Trending & News Well…. YES!(especially on the corporate side of the aisle)
Efficiency, Affordability, and Appease Stock Holders!
1. Cutting safety to improve efficiency, Forcing longer hours with shorter breaks helps maintain efficiency.
2. Affordability via cutting prices on wages, cutting safety regulations, less health benefits, no paid time off, shorter parental leave, and reducing human labor via automated machines to do the job better
3. Make stock holders proud to have a share of your company’s success which comes at the consumer’s expense since much loved quality of life features / a certain quality no longer shines through since it is the same old same old they’ll buy it anyway due to positive word of mouth & profit margins through the roof. The priority is stock holders since it is the long term.
I would add "since 1980"
@Caroline91 I would say…. Since the beginning and ever expanding from 1980 to now….
Child Labor, Harmful Chemicals / Raw Animal Meat / Mutilated Worker Parts / Actual Crap In Our Foods, Painting Products Like A Health Miracle Cure, And No Safety Escapes For Emergencies, etc.
No. Since 1980 mostly. I remember the shift in mentality. The 1980s and since has been like living in The Twilight Zone in which decency and citizenship were thrown out the window so we could selfishly party. (This was because Reagan was elected promising to bring America back to the 1950s before the progressivism and optimism of the 60s and the malaise that occurred in the 70s after the moon landings.). People want to feel good. It's a selfish thing but that's what they want especially after feeling like shit for a decade or so. And, let's face it, being selfish and hedonistic is the antithesis of empathy and citizenship and civility.
@abc3643 Reagan is a bastard that’s for sure…
He climbed the social ladder thanks to his Acting Union & holding of the biggest strike…. Then stabbed his fellow Americans in the back. We as America will undo the damage caused and will push forward, Unions built the middle class & the middle class built this country for f*ck sake.
More money you got the only thing to figure out is what matters. As they say means to an end not an end in of itself.
At the same time we are in the modern era with the Internet at our finger tips. All of collective human ingenuity and knowledge and the only thing you kinda need is the means or money to do what you want with it. That's the end bit right there. So there's that.
Money is necessary to survive financially and meet our basic needs.. But in general, money can't be the only thing that matters.
False. Money is important but it’s not everything.

It is all that matters to many, but not to everyone. Our refusal to enact universal health care and other social programs makes life a lot harder for the poor.
if your dead you can't enjoy your money so even if a society was money focused health would still have a certain level of importance and i think the US has a lot more than just money
No. Power/fame/influence is probably equally important. But it all starts with money. This video may be 40 years old but it still rings true today.
Say rather that the people with all the money want it to be that way, and they have a lot of influence over our culture.
That's what we have been programmed to believe but that's not true
In certain regions, that certainly seems to be the case: money and comfort.
Foreigners have taken over this country due to social media and the effects of the internet to both men and women.
Unfortunately reality. Make no mistake about it, we’re born on to a prison planet
All that matters is family.
For some people, maybe.
we are a capitalist society, so YES!
