Can some people become cynical after reading or watching news?

I am asking this question because I am wondering whether people can become cynical through reading or watching news.

I don’t watch or read the news it’s all bias and want you to believe one side over the other. Don’t let the news media dictate who you vote for in elections you’ll regret it because they’re not telling you everything. Instead I watch podcasts like TIMCAST where they go over the news and discuss with different people who agree to come onto their show to talk politics and other things.

Yes they can. News mainly pushes negative and doom and gloom anyway.
