Why doesn't the US stop sending aid to Israel?

I have gone over this a few times on this website. Let me give you the short version.

USA is no longer interested in the middle east, however they are currently stuck there, including the occupying troops and all that. But just because USA is no longer interested and want to move its attention and resources to another part of the world *cough* countering China *cough* does not mean it want to lose its influence over the middle east.

That is why USA came up with a plan. It is a very simple plan to maintain their control without using their own people and resources. In other words they want to build up an ally so that they become dependent on USA and can maintain US control over the middle east for America. However, USA also do not want to lose control over this ally by making them become too powerful and dominate the region so they want two allies to split the power and a 3rd to pose as an enemy who both of these allies would be distracted by and therefore unlikely to change the structure that USA originally implemented.

The two allies that USA decided upon are Israel and Saudi Arabia where as the enemy that USA is dangling to distract both of them is Iran.

As such, USA can't stop supporting Israel unless they want to rip up their own plans for getting out of the middle east. That said, its even less productive than that because Israel is militarily strong on its own so withholding aid will not actually stop them. Furthermore, USA giving aid is a form of influence which means that is perhaps the only way USA can actually change Israels mind. Stopping the aid means giving up this ability to influence.

As such USA can't really openly go against Israel, they can however do so away from the public eye which there is every indication that they have been such as talking to Israel in private or push other allies to move against Israel.

It is unarguably true though. USA has switched from petty concerns about oil and whatever and instead began to try country China as a potential competitor which is in a completely different area in the world at which point the middle east is just an expensive distraction.

Because its one of the easiest ways to ramp up the economy whenever we need without having to have a large footprint in the middle east.

Think about how much cheaper it is to fund hamas and Israel so we can sell weapons and develop new ones alongside Israel vs doing everything on our own and funding isis.

Plus, we might be fighting a war that actually matters soon and so far as our enemies are concerned, Israel is like our version of north Korea. Only our sattelite country can wipe a whole country off the face of the earth whenever it wants. So it does send a certain message.

Israel also has many resources that help the economy ranging from being leaders in medicine technology to blood diamonds.
