You all talk smack online, but in real life it's often very different. What if you actually met someone who's openly trans?

Say they're a customer, employee, or some other situation where you only briefly interact and then part ways. Would you really say/do anything to them? Or would you treat them normally to their face, and then just complain about them online afterwards?

Just to be clear I'm talking about a situation where you only briefly interact and then part ways, like if they're your cashier at the grocery store. Like a normal interaction, just they're trans. I'm asking if you make a big deal about trans people online would you actually make a big deal about it to a trans person's face in just normal life? Because I doubt most people would. Like I can't imagine trying to start a debate about biology in the walmart checkout line that would be so weird.

I would ignore them as if they didn't exist. If I had to interact with them, I would be polite but perfunctory.

That being said, it would depend. I actually knew two trans people who were cool.
One was a married guy who decided to fully transition later in life. His wife supported his decision and they remained together. I knew and liked both he and his wife.
He changed his name from Roger to Robin and presented as a woman, although not a very attractive or convincing one.
He was low key. Not an activist. I had no problem with him at all and treated him like a woman.
I understand that he later regretted his decision because the promises that were made to him about becoming a real woman didn't materialize and he had ongoing medical problems as a result of the procedures.
I haven't seen them in years, though.

I knew a guy named Conrad who was an outstanding (acoustic and electric) cello player and sound mixer. We collaborated on a performance of Stand By Me. We used to chat a lot too. He was a totally cool guy. He was short, but I didn't think anything of it. I later heard that he was a trans-man. I really didn't care. I liked him.

I met those two under certain circumstances and before militant trans-genderism was a thing. I didn't know much about it. I didn't have a low opinion of them even though I felt sorry for Robin who basically fucked himself before I met him and his wife.

But several years later, I started running into confused adolescent girls who had been convinced that they were trans and were wearing labels with their preferred pronouns.

I new one family and watched their daughter grow up.. I suspected that she was lesbian when she passed through puberty. Then she went on to take "gender studies" in college and came back pushing gender neutral pronouns and the whole LGBTQII+, multi-gender narrative.

Then trans-genderism started being pushed in elementary schools. And men started competing against women in sports and beauty pageants. Trans-genderism was promoted as trendy.

I started seeing videos of militant trans-gender freaks raising hell about their pronouns.

Trans-genderism became an epidemic because of the way it was being pushed on kids. So-called gender affirming care was permanently destroying the lives of children.

I became aware of the nefarious motives behind the trans agenda and realized that it wasn't a grass-roots movement by people who suffered from gender dysmorphia.

I now realize that trans-genderism is a psychological problem that isn't being treated as such. In fact, the madness is being encouraged and forced upon people.

Gays, lesbians, transvestites and other sexual proclivities are fine. But it's impossible to change one's gender.

So, at this point, I refuse to acknowledge trans-genderism as real. I will not pretend that a man is a woman, a woman is a man, that the Earth is flat or that Creationist beliefs are sane just to make someone feel comfortable.

One may as well say that they identify as a unicorn and demand that people respect that claim.

I have never met a trans person in real life before but I have just seen trans YouTubers. The ones like Blaire White, Marcus Dib, Buck Angel and Alexis Blake seem sane and normal to me.
I have also seen new reports of people who claim to be trans women committing crimes in bathrooms and also tricking or not telling men they go on dates on they are trans. This is a very bad thing to do. Since trans women are also born male a lot of other men probably wouldn’t want to date them. Not because they are trans it’s because they were also born male and humans cannot change sexes. They can only change their physical appearance.

As for the people who transition before realizing they aren't actually trans, that could almost 100% be avoided (I mean, it is since less than 1% of people detransition because of that reason) if there was better education about what being trans is and how trans Healthcare works. I'm not trans, but my housemate is, and you'd be surprised how many other trans people he's seen just around the city that I did not realize. They all have jobs you know? They don't live in a temple like monks and never leave. They go shopping and to movies and gas stations, everywhere anybody else goes they also have to go. The example I used of pronouns on a nametag actually happened with me and my housemate irl, but I didn't even notice while we were in the store. You've almost definitely run into a trans person at some point and just didn't realize. They're only like 1% of the population but that's still 1 out of every 100 people, and I've interacted with way more than 100 people in my lifetime I don't know about you. It's really very unlikely you'd live your entire life and never meet anyone who is openly trans, though they still probably won't tell you they're trans, they just wouldn't be hiding it.

I used "You" several times but that is scarcely modern as it was adopted in the 1400's. Same as sex and gender came into usage in that century. The Great Vowel Shift didn't happened till long after the 1400's.

So it is quite a stretch and misleading of you to claim "You" is a 'very modern pronoun'. It is not since it reaches back to the Battle of Agincourt.

People think 'Ye old pub' is archaic but Y simply started substituting for a defunct letter with a 'th' sound. Thorn off the top. So 'Ye old pub' is simply 'The old pub' with an archaic spelling. The/Ye is the same (unchanged) word.

So the slightly older (1300s) form of 'Thou' would naturally become 'You' using the same substitution.

There are 7 defunct letters in English. Thorn, in old English, was a runic letter. A P with the upright extended representing the TH sound which seems to missing in other European languages. Letters gradually change in form over time and Thorn became open at the top and started looking like a Y to the degree that it was being mistaken.

When Caxton started printing in the 1400's, instead of increasing the number of typesets (a cost factor) he chose to use Y as THORN. After 1066, Anglo Saxon had less prestige, so English became Latinized to a degree and printers changed to using TH instead of Y or THORN.

You seem to have little concept of time frames. Obviously I was not alive in the 1400's and English spelling was still to be standardized, so questioning why I went along with changing the representation of THORN is pretty inane.

Introducing 101 sexual orientation pronouns is inane. It has nothing to do with gender or sex both of which are 1400's words. It is illustrated by the gymnastics being performed on denying the biological basis of sex and gender.

Conversion therapy is flooding their bodies with the opposite sex hormones, mutilating their genitalia, and permanently sterilizing them. Your gender is determined by your DNA not your feelings. Conversion therapy is when you try to change someone's identity, not their physical body. And it literally doesn't work. Ever. Even people who WANT it to work admit it doesn't work and every study done has shown it is actually incredibly harmful both in the short and long term.

I didn't change the language, I just don't ascribe myself to the lies. I like to live in reality and not fantasy. Studies actually show that if you don't intervene that kids become gay or lesbian by the time they are adults. Also the vast majority of people who suffer gender dysphoria experienced sexual trauma as a young child. So the dysphoria is a symptom of sexual trauma and not its own condition. If transitioning was a good option, then why is the suicide rate essentially the same before transitioning (39%), as after (40%)? Nevermind the lifelong medical conditions that are created by transitioning and the overall shorter lifespan.

1. Studies show that kids with "gender non-conforming behaviors" (such as a boy liking pink or a girl wanting short hair) will most often not turn out to be trans. However studies also show that kids who insist they are the opposite gender will most often NOT grow out of that and are just trans.
2. Many people experience sexual trauma and are not gay or trans and many gay and trans people have not experienced sexual trauma, but also gay and trans people are much more likely to be victims of sexual abuse because people think there's something wrong with them. Like conversion therapy, there's also "corrective rape" which actually happened enough that that term was invented to describe it (very fucked up as I'm sure you agree).
3. Transitioning is literally the ONLY option with a NON-NEGATIVE outcome for trans people. Even if the result was that they stay the same mentally that would still be the BEST option currently available. Luckily if they're in a supportive environment that's definitely not the case and there is actually such a significant improvement that their mental health can become on par with average cis people's. In fact people around them being either supportive and accepting or unsupportive and discriminatory is the biggest indicator of whether their mental health will get better or worse, and that's literally the biggest and first step of any trans person's process: SOCIAL transition. If social transition is successful some people don't even want to transition medically, because although the risks are on par or lesser than most other surgeries that's still a surgery and there are always risks to surgery obviously.
