Israel didn't get to choose whether they would overpopulate that strip of land or that Hamas would escalate this conflict to the current level nor that Egypt wouldn't take refugees or that aid convoys would get attacked.

Israel keeps pushing the Palestinians into smaller and smaller pockets of land, but congrats on excusing mass murder with overcrowding. Hamas did not escalate. Israel has killed far more Palestinians than vice versa. If anything, Israel owes them a massive blood debt.

Israel itself has repeatedly targeted civilians it had coerced into fleeing. On one of the first days of its attack, it bombed a convoy of civilian cars. Its tanks fire on civilian cars. It's soldiers fire on civilian cars. It has wiped out entire extended families by dropping high explosives on their houses.

It deliberately destroys hospital equipment, and despite the protestations of its allies and the UN, it has now caused a famine in Gaza.

This is a "clusterfuck" by design. This is what happens when a people whose very religious creed tells them they are special elect psychopathic populists to power.
