When I visited France, I spent a lot of time driving through the countryside. Most of the people were extremely nice and would go out of their way to be helpful and generous.

I ran into a few snooty people in larger cities.

There's good and bad people everywhere in the world regardless of their nationality, ethnicity, gender, religion etc. With that being said some french people could be nice while others could be unfriendly.

A lot of them are very direct and have dry humor and don't like socializing with strangers, but in general from MY experience anyways, they're mostly very polite, courteous and humble. So the short answer is YES. I think French people are very misunderstood and their bad reputation isn't deserved.
They're only rude when Muslims try to fuck with them

I don't know. Never been to France. But I've known several people who have. So my initial perception of French people is based on those experiences. And so far it seems to me that most French people, at least in Paris, are douche bags.

Some people are friendly, others are rude and conceited.
By and large, most of them are quite friendly, helpful and honest with a great sense of patriotism.

Some are, some aren't. I found them more friendly in the southern part of the country and in Normandy and Lorraine.
