What do you think of NY releasing murderers who chopped up their victim (an old lady) without bail because dismemberment is a no bail crime?

I keep hearing about NY doing or allowing crimes to happen on broad daylight. They even went as far as imprisoning a police officer, that stopped a robbery.

I'm convinced the city's being ran by crooks and criminals themselves.

Were they aleady convicted? If not they are entitled to bail - except in murder cases perhaps not.

Dude, they were released without bail. As in non bail.

I hate bail in the cases of non violent cases, Say minor drug charges and the like, just let them go. But in a case where this couple killed and dismembered an old lady, being released without bail is a crime.

Actually no. They weren't charged with the murder just the dismemberment, which is not a crime that gets bail, it's catch and release. You'd need to read articles on it for more details, or watch the video.

ok. well dismembering a dead body does not seem nearly as bad. I understand why there was no bail. Bail is to make sure a person shows up in court, not to punish them.
