Bermie Madoff. Responsible for the largest Ponzi scheme in history, defrauded thousands of investors out of tens of billions of dollars over the course of 17 years, possibly longer.
Donald Trump. No victims. Paid banks back early with interest. Banks wanted to do more business with him.

Madoff's bond was related to BAIL in a CRIMINAL case. He was not really a major flight risk and, since his financial empire collapsed due to his own Ponzi scheme, that was a reasonable amount and certainly not in violation of the 8th Amendment.
Trump's bond is in a civil case and is related to his PENALTY in a CIVIL case. Trump's penalty in this case, a case involving fraud and which he lost, was about $355 million and, with interest would be about $450+ million and counting. So, Trump owes that money. The "bond" is to make sure that penalty is paid in case he loses his appeal.
Fortunately for Trump, an appeals court in New York reduced the bond to $175 million. But, if he loses his appeal (which he likely will), he will still owe the $450+ million.
Meanwhile, you need to learn about the law.
1) "No victims" is bullshit. The victims were the companies and governments defrauded by the Trump Organization's lies.
2) The existence of victims is irrelevant to a crime. (*)

Suppose someone - let's call him Donny J. Tramp aka DJT - tried to kill you, but failed.
The evidence is overwhelming and incontrovertible that DJT tried to kill you.
The authorities arrest DJT and charge him with attempted murder.
In DJT's criminal trial, DJT's defense lawyer says, "But there's no victim! Mr. Lliam not only wasn't killed, he didn't suffer a boo-boo of any kind due to my client! This case should be thrown out! After all, how can you have a crime if you don't have a victim?"
Now, suppose the judge throws out the case "Attempted murder is not a real crime since there is no victim." or the jury acquits because someone like you is on the jury and thinks "No victims."
How are you going to feel about that? Especially given that DJT is still running around free and wanting to kill you?

I can't stand Donald Trump, and some of the things he did deserve punishment, but this matter is petty and the punishment goes way beyond the infraction.
Sure they can. They want him dead and buried and don't care who knows it. They are used to getting away with everything.

No sense to be found , they want to stop him from running so they can force a win because they have genocide to enact on US soil
