Fermi paradox: Just by probability, there should be something somewhere.

One answer is that to have faster-than-light travel, the life form cannot comprehend violence to achieve it.

Another is that humanity on the Sol system could be the first even trying to leave the planet. Someone has to ask, why not us?

Third could be a ruling party that wipes out anyone who tries to challenge them. It is very colonial to compare our history.

Maybe there is no faster-than-light travel. Whatever giant spacecraft life can muster is still just the equivalent of a life preserver in an uncharted ocean from the last shore.
