Trump wins, but his own party's swamp will do everything it can to prevent anything he wants or needs to get done for four years so that a bonafide 'insider' can run in 2028 to "save our democracy." Trump and everyone he surrounds himself with will be branded as "disappointing" by the same people who actively sabotage it as a campaign gimmick to "return to normal" (again), and first chsnce they get, the GOP will restructure their primaries to function more like those of the Democrats so that they can lock out ant future candidates who won't play ball.

This crap is theater; very little is going to change without very unrealistic expectations of a near total culling of both parties. The president and his cabinet can't make a lasting impact on much without the backing of Congress.

It is actually rather hard to predict even 6 months out.

Trump's legal situation will go through a lot in the next 6 months including the very possibility he is in a New York prison.

How the wars in Ukraine and Gaza are going will also have an impact.

And the border situation.

And so will the upcoming US Supreme Court decisions regarding Trump and abortion and some other issues.

And the GOP vice-presidential choice.

All of these things can motivate or demotivate voters so, really, we are still in a wild west of speculation about what will happen in November.

Probably a run-away Democratic win. With Trump siphoning off campaign donations and causing trouble it has truly damaged the GOP as an organization. The GOP has historically always succeeded by being more competent as an organization than the Democrats to make up for the fact that the Democrats are more popular. Without this advantage it just appears that the GOP is doomed to fall apart and then enter a sort of civil war where they attempt to put the blame on their rivals.

Looking at the US from the outside, it is clear that the 'Biden' Administration has seriously pissed off a great number of the American people, if the 'Biden' Administration survives the next election it will be a minor miracle, and given how the the politicians who are currently if office have aided and abetted the current government I would not be surprised if they are are also removed from office, especially those who say they are republicans but have constantly voted with democrats on bills that went against the best interests of the US.

I want the military to take temporary control so we can find a third option.

Biden is burying us financially and is letting too many illegal immigrants into the country. My fear with Trump is that he will turn us against NATO, letting Putin invade, while beginning to seed a dictatorship into the presidency.

I think this election is a lose-lose.

Honestly, negative polling on Biden aside (I think this is frustration about inflation rather than anything about Biden in particular, I mean all the metrics Trump blathers on about are all better than when he was in office), I feel Trump is at his base level of support. Trump can poll 100% amongst committed Republicans and still lose… I think it will be close, state-to-state, but Biden still wins like last time.
