I worked at my last company for 28 years and moved to a new one.
Was it hard to leave? Like did you feel stuck there because of the time you put in?
It was a hard decision but the move was long overdue. It was scary "starting over" but I've adjusted and glad I made the move.
I’m in the same boat now, been with this company since 2015… it’s federal which is good but the work environment is toxic and I really just don’t like the nature of the job, a lot of stress lately, pretty much I’m just not happy, wake up everyday dreading it because of that job… so much people tell me I’ve put too much time in there and I won’t have anywhere else to go if I leave… I hate when people try to put a limit on you.
@Markymark92 how many years before retirement from the fed job vs. a new company? That'd be my only concern.
I’m eligible to retire from my current job in 2050
Never looked into a new company yet, I’m 30 years old, no kids I fell like now is the time to leave and try something new
by all means. Go for it.
Yeah like I said it’s hard, it’s a mental thing ya know but I don’t wanna be that guy that gets stuck then start having regrets ya know
