If you have questions and thoughts, I expect to meet them to the best of my knowledge.

It's still my favorite trip I've taken, probably because it was during COVID, but still. It's rare you get to experience such a wide variety of sites, geographies and cultures on one trip. Turkey is one of the most interesting countries in the world for sure. However, the people who live there completely ruin it. If you're a Westerner, everyone is out to rip you off. While I do respect many aspects of Turkish culture, for example it is more Westernized than other Muslim countries, especially on the coast. But it's hard to respect people who lie, cheat and steal. Just stop scamming tourists and your country will be almost perfect.
Also, Turkish food in Europe is better than Turkish food in Turkey
I didn't understand what you wrote. First of all, yes, Turkey is geographically under beauties that are not found in any other country, but unfortunately, all people, including the state, have deliberately ruined this country.
Apart from that, there is an exchange rate situation, in a country where 1 dollar is 30 TL, you cannot go there with foreign currency and complain. Turkey is already an expensive and bankrupt country for the Turks.
You are complaining about the price being a little too high for you in an environment where people are poor and cannot even drink coffee outside. You are like people who want to watch the people who will die when the Titanic sinks from the distant ship, I say look at it from this side.
Turkey has been flooded with tourists in recent years because it is cheap. Rest assured, Turks stop traveling abroad, I can't even visit their own country. You have to see, know and be aware of these situations.
Turkish food abroad may be better than Turkish food in Turkey for economic reasons.
"You are complaining about the price being a little too high for you in an environment where people are poor and cannot even drink coffee outside."
That's not my problem. Why should I be charged 660 Lira for a 100 Lira meal. They see foreigners as inferior garbage
If you said "It's not my problem," and we'll saying, "Your problem isn't their problem."
to be frank my opinion of the turkish people isn't great. but that's mostly cause pretty much all my exposure to turkish people was second generation turkish immigrants who live in my country, leech on our social security systems while explicitly hating my country. it's those people who commit crimes and their youth always start fights in public. like there's not many positive things they are known for here. but i assume that's because they lost their identity and don't fit in anywhere that makes them mad.
You have written very well.
The same horde of people is harming Turkey, and we are experiencing the same thing for other immigrants in our own country.
Unfortunately, the Turkish nation was at a "non-existent" level before it came to you. It wasn't bad for secularism, but the conditions were disastrous.
Those who used their minds and had the opportunity went abroad because of their workforce.
By the way, you should ask them, they can also complain about you.
It is said that people abroad are cold, rude, individualistic, unsympathetic
Our people were the opposite, so we can talk about two different profiles for both sides.
There are also those who worship a decent Turk when they see him, but of course, unfortunately, not every Turk is decent.
There were those who were abroad and did not learn a word of the language, those who lived on unemployment benefits for life, and those who occupied a part of it and disrupted the ethnic identity.
They were not civilized - or whatever their problems were - they had constant financial and moral fights.
Let's look for the state before looking for the culprit. If the state was good in this country, no Turk would go abroad, if your state was good, it would not have taken any foreigner to his country because he needed labor, he would have brought people from outside like Atatürk and either educated his own people or at least he would not have given them such an easy and direct residence
Let's call the wrongs bad, let's call the bad ones bad, but let's not forget that we are all slaves to the system and innocent people somewhere.
well i'm good friends with some kurdish folks. they hate when i call them turkish xD they also don't have many kind words about the turkish people cause they've sufferd a genocide by the turks.
i would actuall like to get to know some original turkish people to find out what they are really like xD
Someone asked about the Turkish-Kurdish, I wrote an answer there, you can look.
Also, I didn't understand the talk of genocide, they were the ones who joined the PKK and gave Turkey Turkish martyrs.
Also, Kurds and Turks have not been at war for a long time, believe me, I am talking about 15 years. It was a game that the government had also played.
Kurds say they are Kurds, but they are not anti-Turkishness and they are not hooligans.
They all know Turkish and Kurdish, and some of them don't even know Kurdish.
They are never hostile to the Turks, you can be sure.
yeah these kurds are also usually second generation still telling the old stories that were relevant hen their parents left the country. I don't know what is true and what not. everyone has their opinion. i don't believe that what the curds say holds no truth. but i don't know the entire picture either.
I wrote it, but the management deleted the question asked, and my article flew away.
But I took a screenshot, I can send it if you want.
lol gag mods being fascists once again xD gotta love it. but anyway i would still have to consider whatever you'd tell me as "one side of the same story". I don't know the kurds side of the story. and i don't really care either way to be honest xD it's not my problem wither way. as a german i can relate to having a fucked up history. but anwyway i guess the people you meet irl are typically better than the stereotypes about them.
I have no intent in going, and most turks I've talked to annoy me.
You're right about your ailments. Rest assured, we are uncomfortable too.
I just don't like how they cook massive amounts of food on YT.
Are you talking about those who produce content for this concept? There are very few people who do this.
Yes. Ok, good to know. 👍 Turkey seems cool. I want to go to Cappadocia and Pamukkale.
Yes, I'm sure you'll love it.

Well, I have mixed feelings. My great grandmother came to America from Armenia. During that trip, her mother disappeared and she was separated from her sister.
I feel a strange connection to that land I can't explain, so I want to go.
when I meet Turkish people, they actually seem really nice. The men like to go out to bars, they drink a lot but also really seem to understand old school American culture, which I like a lot.
They can be curt. I can see why many of them go to Germany I guess but I'd say here in the states they are building a reputation for being good builders. Mostly plumbing, carpeting and renovating. Many of them take pride in their work which is maybe the only universally liked thing in this country next to money.
Another thing I admire about the turks is the how quickly they can figure out how to get by here and speak the language. They strike me as fairly smart people because even the ones who don't speak English, I don't really have a problem communicating with them if you get what I mean.
I feel bad for them because they come here for a better life, probably being told so many stories about how rich we are and how lazy Americans are but then they find out how you must work practically like a slave just to keep a roof over your head. At least in the beginning.
An ancient empire, attacked and conquered many countries, well my country was under the occupation of the turks at some point of time...
I believe that the turks are divided by muslim extremist and others who are open minded and enjoy living their lives "european lifestyle"...
Many beautiful and archeological sites in Turkey...
They have a good cuisine, they make beautiful music and it's a tourist attraction country!
Erdogan is a power-mad megalomaniac who has squeezed the life out of Turkish democracy and replaced it with Putinesque autocracy. (Plus, Turkey, which is partly Asian and partly European, suffers ethnic and religious fissures.)
You think very wrong. It is your shame to see those who are trying to protect Turkey and keep it secular as bad. Turkey has been under enemy occupation since Ataturk died. One of them is the dictatorial rule that has been in charge of us for 20 years.
This man deliberately left the Turks behind in this country. Financially, health-wise, education-wise, opportunity-wise. And they staged a fake war plan and deliberately flooded our country with refugees. While they treated them as 1st class citizens, they treated the Turks as blacks.
Turks are not Arabs. The reactionary religion that is tried to be imposed is unacceptable. Islam is an Arab religion. The reasons for imposing this are purely colonial already.
If it wasn't for the people you are talking about, you wouldn't even want to step into this country, if this country is even a very livable place, you can be sure that this is entirely thanks to the modern, contemporary section you mentioned as "divisive"...
@ellefia thanks miss ellefia 😌
I hear there are some well-preserved Greek, Roman, and Byzantine ruins there as well as the Gallipoli battlefield and the Hagia Sophia.
I wish they'd finally own up to the Armenian genocide and Erdoğan needs to be more friendly to the press, and restart peace talks with the Kurds.
The Turkish-Kurdish conflict has not existed in the country for 15 years. Tayyip tried to turn the races against each other. To a certain extent, this has been successful. In another question, a long and explanatory answer to the Turkish-Kurdish issue is herds
I can only say that the Turks opposed the Kurds at the time with nationalist sentiments. Because the Kurds wanted their own autonomy with 0 adaptations and 0 contributions to the country. They wanted Kurdish to be the second official language and they wanted to take the name of almost half of the country and call it Kurdistan. Still the same thing is going on.
If the Turks were fascist and aggressive in terms of race, you would not be able to come to this country as a tourist. In addition to Kurds, there have been other ethnicities in our country since time immemorial.
What the Kurds were trying to do at the time was just an Israeli behavior. It was confrontational. In addition, the government filled us with terrorists, fed them in the mountains, made these people look like Kurds, and used the HDP to take the Kurds to the mountains. In other words, he had Turkish martyrs given to the country for 20-odd years.
I hope I was able to explain.
I'm not going to give an opinion on other things, because I don't have any guaranteed knowledge of the past outside of the period I know of myself.
It is said that the Armenian genocide either never happened or that it happened because of this. What you need to know is that as long as there is a country-friendly person in the state, everything that is done has a good reason.
You know very well what's what... Sabetayist etc...
What's the deal with AK? It's like Erdogans pet poodle now!
Why is the EAST so scared of EU ascesion?
Have you ever been to Catal Huyek?
What about Göbekli Tepe?
What's the Hagia Sophia like?
Hello.
Unfortunately, Erdogan is a disgrace, he is an enemy of Turks and Turkey, he is just a tong, he introduces himself to people as Muslims, he is a secret partner of Israel, I am sure he is a member of the Masonic Lodge.
Unfortunately, we can't get rid of this man and the parasitic people he has brainwashed. The country is constantly plunged into chaos. Every day is full of cruelty and disgrace.
I haven't seen the places you mentioned, I haven't visited them, frankly, I'm not interested. As Turkish people, we don't even have the money to change districts because of this system. Besides, let's change countries and visit touristic places like you. We can't have such a hobby.
I'm also against religion. That's why I'm never interested in the mosque.
I don't have anything immediately but I am interested in Turkish history so I might need some help at times.
Believe me, we don't even know Turkish history properly. Because after Atatürk died, traitors and enemies immediately attacked. Culturally, this place was not and did not remain as Atatürk wanted. The history shown to us in the books is misleading, Arab-loving, and the opportunities to reach the real history are completely limited. So believe me, we both need each other, more. In addition, our education system is based on memorization, not education, unfortunately. Like I said, I can totally help as far as I know.
Most people don't know Turkey, most of them know it wrong, only some of them know it right. That's why I opened this thread.
Whether you're going to like it or not, do it with the right information.
There is a Turkophobe at the head of Turkey, the man has ruined the whole country financially and morally. And his concern is to destroy Turkey, to destroy Turks and Turkish culture.
Despite this, there is a segment of people who have not developed themselves as Turks and who think they are Arabs who have fallen for this Islamic game.
We have been dealing with these zealots for almost a hundred years.
People think that we elected Tayyip, but the man wins the elections by stealing votes, by making even dead people vote, by including fake votes.
No foreign press is talking about it.
The cut that the man plays in his hands is the one I'm talking about.
I think I was able to explain it.
If the Turks had been Turks, as mentioned, the country would not have been what it was like for almost 100 years (and before Ataturk).
I think they care a lot of how they present themselves. Regardless of event they will show up in cologne and a ton of hair products with a fresh lineup.
Yes, I talked about this here not long ago. Unfortunately, they are completely slaves to visuals and ostentation. This is because of the Y parents and especially his Gen Z children. Since the country was sinking economically, many people tried to become a phenomenon on social media, and most of them always imitated what they saw: Telling stories, wearing make-up while telling, wearing make-up all the time, promoting products everywhere, shooting combination videos... We are truly sickeningly corrupt. There are no original people left, everyone is superficial, ordinary, copy and fake.
They are among the countries with the lowest intelligence levels in the world due to their treatment of their own people.
I knew a lot of Turks when I lived in Germany. I've never been to Turkey.
Oradaki Türkler hakkında ne düşünüyorsun?
What do you think of the Turks there? And also about Turks and Turkey in general?
I visited Turkiye last year. Nice country, friendly people.
Turks whom I've met and befriended are wonderful. I understand that Istanbul is beautiful! But I can't say I'm impressed with Erdogan and his balancing act!
Erdogan is a disgrace, just a traitor who invaded the country. Everyone in the state is. We are completely captured by the enemy and ruled by a dictator.
Very friendly people. I have traveled there and found the majority of people to be friendly and nice and also helpful, and i love the food and of course, the rich culture.
Yes, there are good sides. But we can't live because of financial problems.
I would love to see Gobeckli Tepe and the under city caves
Did you get interested after watching the TV series Atiye?
No one knew about Gobeklitepe, it was learned and became famous thanks to Atiye on Netflix. I think you should definitely watch it before you go.
Is this it?
www.imdb.com/title/tt10075318/?ref_=ext_shr
Yes. Have a good time.
It's a series that gets a little boring from time to time, but I'm sure you'll like it, please tell me your comment afterwards.
Rest assured, no one knew anything about Göbeklitepe until this series came out. He became famous entirely thanks to this fantastic series. I also recommend you to watch the series "Aşk-ı Memnu" by Beren Saat, who plays the lead role. You will be grateful to me.
What series do you say it for? Aşkı Memnu or Atiye?
Aşkı Memnu is a perfectly rendered immortal, a book adaptation. That's its peculiarity, perfectly processed. If you can find the version with English subtitles, you'll see...
Atiye is Turkey's first attempt at a fantasy series. It is also beautifully handled. But it's not perfect.
Please let me know your review for both of them when you can watch it. Atiye 2-3 seasons, about 30 episodes in total. Love Satisfaction 70 episodes.
Yeş Atiye is fantasy mixed with reality, spiritual. Aşkı Memnu is related to passionate love and more...
Another Turkey spam question. Says on your profile that you live in the USA
I think this was a very spammy question. I don't think my profile says anything like that.
Turks, like the other 8,000,000,000+ Earthlings, are individual humans.
This was a very ineffective response. I had expected information, questions and criticism and opinion. We are all the same on the one hand, different on the other.
Which is what I meant. Turks live in a partly-European, partly-Asian country with plenty of religions, so they are a highly interesting people.
Turks, you should know that they are not the kind of people that Ataturk idealized. Unfortunately. Ataturk has already tried to do the opposite. He it while he was alive, but after he died, everything was ruined because of these people.
In other words, Atatürk always said this about the Turkish nation: "Valiant, chivalrous, brave, honorable, intelligent, hardworking" etc...
Not at all. Turks are always unskilled, slave-spirited, visionless, ignorant and handicapped. I mean this seriously. You can already see this from the situation of the country and the people
Almost everyone says "Atatürk", but no one is like him. Nobody.
That's why I'm advocating for this reality. Even if I am Turkish, I speak the truth, I don't like fairy tales.
In other words, Turks equal blacks. Interesting.
Yes, maybe worse.
I’ve talked with Turkish girls that were pretty and usually chill
Turkish girls are not normally cold, but they can be corrupt with the culture.
I am Turkish, I am from Erzincan. I was happy to meet a Turk here.
Hello Ayturk. I was also pleased. I have been using the Turkish version of this application for a very long time, by chance I saw the foreign version, I wanted to enter and try it. It's definitely better than the Turkish version in terms of decency.
Why are Turks so racist?
It's not actually racist. On what basis do you say this? This country has always been threatened by others and was rescued and recreated by Ataturk as it sank. But because of the traitors, the country did not find proper peace. Those who came to power also created this fight. It created chaos that didn't exist. People reacted to the threat, out of fear and dignity. I'm talking about the Kurdish issue.
Whether you are talking about refugees in the country in recent years, we know the purpose of the person who came to power because he did not rule the country in a Turkish and Turkey-friendly way. He deceived some people by agitating. However, when Syrians became 1st class citizens and Turks were 2nd class citizens in the country, of course, the problem exploded.
If Turks are racist, you can't come to this country every year, and if Turks are racist, you can't stay here for the long term. All of you have bought houses here.
I try not to as we live in close conct with them.
Are you trying not to be in close contact with them?
Why is it called Turkey and not ham?
Hello. There are a lot of rumors about this, but I can say this.
The word "Turkey" means "the place of the Turks".
It is said that there is a misunderstanding due to the turkey trade. That's why we called India India, that's why the Americans called us Turkey.
(India=Hindistan)
It's good that you touched on this issue because it is said that foreigners do this on purpose, that derogatory word games are made, and that some Turks are uncomfortable with this situation.
That's why they universally say that Turkey should be called Turkiye, not Turkey.
I wrote Turkey to the question, because I have no intention of imposing otherwise.
This is not an amusement park, you asked questions and I answered, it doesn't matter.
A complicated place. All the best.
It's a disgraceful and ignorant thing. Nothing is to my heart.
We Italians do not like Turks
Why?
Is it because they are lagging behind, they are reactionary, they are corrupted by Arab culture, and they are ignorant?
No, it has nothing to do with it. The history of this hostility goes back a long way and will never change. Besides, Italians generally love Arabs. Arabs are warm-blooded and good people. We are particularly interested in the Arab culture. Both we and the Arabs are people of Mediterranean culture.
Actually, there are very few nations that Italians do not like.
All the Arabs I met were wonderful people. What is the reason for your racism towards Arabs?
The Arabs are a reactionary, bigoted and bigoted nation. At least that's the case across the country. You approached it from a very interesting place, because they say that Italians and Turks are similar in most respects.
During the tourist period, Arab tourists came to our country and they ruined all the hotels. Because they are really dirty, ill-mannered, thoughtless, ignorant nations. Children's noise is separate, their own noise is separate...
There are some good ones among them, I met one or two of them when I was working at the hotel, but it is very interesting that you love the reactionary Arabs in your elite state, who are so attached to your own culture, and that you hate the more modern and secular Turkish people compared to them.
In our history, the Arabs are traitors. Even though you speak such radical hatred, I will not change my view of Italians because of this.
Money is like water in Arabs, this is the only difference between us. And they are more reactionary than us, we are more modern than them. That's all I can say.
All the Turks who gave houses and hotel rooms to earn money regretted doing so after seeing the final state of the houses and rooms. There are no more words to say. Money doesn't take care of everything.
Are they Asian, or european?
Hello. Definitely Asian. It was determined that the Turks came through China before they were stationed in Turkey.
Great country
Thank you.
