The only sort of thing that would change who i vote for would be worldwide breaking news (i. e. Trump admits his plan was to make the far right completely dependent on him so he could betray and ruin them) so I don't plan to watch the debates.

No. I really wonder why CNN is even sponsoring the debate. The party conventions haven't met yet. Neither Biden nor Trump are their party's nominated candidates. Sure, it's assumed they will be, but why not wait until it's official.
