When you deal with bullies or terrorists the response has to be so sever and as you say disproportionate that your adversary is so shocked and surprised that they never bother you agian. Sometimes you have to take life to give life.

A disproportionate response is a good way to invite retaliation. That is exactly what is happening here and right now the retaliation is social and economic. It may get even worse than that. Israel has gained nothing by doing this but has lost a lot.

@exitseven Not short of using nukes and incinerating the whole world they could not have "finished the job". That is true for Afghanistan, Iraq, Vietnam and Korea. We lost every one of those wars and a slew of smaller ones as well. BUT! the executives and shareholders of the large military contractors got rich and richer which was always the reason for all this crap in the first place.
