Something many adults do when they get older and have responsibilities and such is, internally, do a cost-benefit analysis of major decisions. Some people don't and they fuck up their lives. But responsible adults do.

In a cost-benefit analysis, you try to assess if what you want to do is worth the cost to do it. Sometimes, the costs are underestimated and that often leads to disaster.

Let's try to apply this to the Russian - Ukraine situation...

If American weapons are made in America, for the Russian to take out weapons factories here in the US, that invites REAL war that the Russians cannot win because, not only would they go to war against the United States, but they'd be going to war against the rest of NATO. Unfortunately for the Russians, they no longer have the equivalent Warsaw Pact. (In fact, many former Warsaw Pact nations are now NATO members.)

To go to war against NATO is a form of suicide. It would be akin to what happened in 1917 with the Russian Revolution. Then, WW I was raging and not going well for the Russians. They got out of it due to the Revolution. The Russians going up against Ukraine is one thing, but the Russian people do not have a long-term sustainable will to go up against NATO. Putin would be removed from power just like Czar Nicholas in 1917. One reason for this is that NATO doesn't want to invade Russia and the Russian people aren't that stupid to think NATO does. They'd rise up realizing Putin is the problem and he'd be taken out in some fashion.

So, Putin, who is not at all stupid, is smart enough to realize that he doesn't want that and he likes to be dictator right now. A peace deal would be struck.

NATO ships don't need to head to Ukraine. NATO is on the border of Ukraine.

Hungary
Romania

Furthermore, these NATO countries have land borders with Russia:
Poland and Lithuania surround the exclave of Kaliningrad. (The Russians would lose that.)
Latvia
Estonia
Norway
Finland

The USA and the world can't supply enough missiles to hit Russia, without risking their own missile supplies.

So it is just a propaganda message to sooth the public into thinking the war is going better than it is.

Lest you forget Russia has some of the best missile systems in the world. It's why the West isn't risking it's war planes, until it can be sure Russia has sufficiently depleted its missile supplies.

The genocide in Gaza is also holding up missile supplies.

If Russia tried to board a NATO vessel to inspect cargo it would trigger a full on war in Europe, something Putin won't risk!

Well the USA is on war with USSR, now Russia, since the cold war by their secret services, including paying for make change Ucraina the sides, a literal weapon on Russian territory wouldn't be that big step.

That would not go well for Russia. Russia is a bare shadow of the Soviet Union, to the point that a country without a Navy (Ukraine) is sinking Russian Capital ships.
