Because they won't shut up about family values and how certain things are sins, yet they support a man who cheated on many romantic partners, commited crimes, is a racist, etc yet if a relative or friend does the same thing they won't forgive them. They are weird as hell.

To be fair, there really aren’t that many people suggesting that either candidate is beyond reproach. MOST intelligent, honest and rational citizens KNOW that their candidate is a dirt bag. But they’d all rather spend their time trying to convince themselves that their candidate’s rival is a BIGGER dirt bag than spend it trying to unearth an individual who might actually be good for the nation as a whole.
In their defense, the type of people who would pursue politics usually do it for money and power. So finding an altruistic candidate would be difficult. But the most noble ventures usually are. The things that come easy come with a cost.
