Every USA rep BUT POTUS should get 18 years max & then gone. 9 terms in House, 3 in Senate and 18 in SCOTUS. What do you think?

I think 18 years is enough time to make policy, operate effectively and form an institutional memory. I would further make each SCOTUS justice retire every two years so (9 justices x 2 years) that they get their 18 years in with new blood every two years so each POTUS term he/she automatically gets two nominations. My other three caveats are NO ONE ANYWHERE over 70, no more Electoral College and there has to be public campaign finance so Congress isn't beholden to bribery... I mean lobbyists.

I really wish we had a parliamentary system but we have a ridiculous constitution. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Uh, the UK is in rapid decline just like the U. S. Many people over there are asking why elected officials almost never do what the public voted them in to do. The entire western world is in the same boat. Any idea that you can write some law or change the law to get out of this quicksand is an illusion.

One thing I started suspecting like 15 years ago is that a key to understanding this world and the U. S. is "money is the root of all evil." There's a lot of truth our ancestors knew that people don't want to believe in anymore.

An Indian historian believes that Genghis Khan chose not to invade India -- which he could have easily conquered -- because he knew that with all of it's vast riches that his own people would become corrupt. He had wisdom. The amount of wisdom is quickly vanishing in today's world.

I'll take the word of an Indian historian on it. He described how an Indian leader had attacked & provoked Genghis and Genghis pursued the guy but intentionally stopped when he crossed the river into India.

I'm sure it's true. India was composed if small regional kingdoms at the time. I doubt this skirmish decided it. It's simple geography and better targets of opportunity.

I definitely agree there should be term limits on politicians. Don't know if 18 is the right number, but I'm not opposed to it.

I'm in favor of any change in terms in years, these so called "public servants" are devious bastards using the system to become rich while threatening legislation against those who can persecute them. This is a problem in both parties.

I don't know about your specific numbers but there needs to be change for sure. The one who just died Fienbaum I think is her name? That was a disgrace, Pelosi and her wealth is a disgrace, Schumer same thing, and it goes on and on. It's harder to find an actual clean long term politician than the opposite

For POTUS I would do 2 5-year terms, 18 years is WAYYY too long for the president to be in power.
