The left will not be bitching and screaming about a "rigged trial" or a "Republican Judge" or a "tainted jury" or any of the other crap the right has been pushing in response to Trump's conviction. We know that both Hunter and Trump are guilty and we believe in the law and due process.

Nope. He pleaded guilty before and had an agreement before some judge just decided to throw it out. If a Republican were charged with gun violations though, it'd be endless whining about Democrats trying to steal everyone's guns. But since it's Buden's kid, they're now celebrating the assault on gun rights. They're desperate because Trump is headed for a loss so they'll latch on to anything. This won't change a single voter's mind though. Biden is still not a convicted felon while Trump is x34. They can't use the justice department weaponization argument anymore either, which is crushing for their victim narrative.

I think Biden is looking to cash in on this by showing himself as the more mature of the two. While Trump is throwing his rattle out of his pram, Biden is taking a more adult responsible approach.

The whole system is corrupt. Trump and the GOP are the worst this country has to offer. Yes, Biden is better on many levels, but STILL, he's only the lesser of two problems. YES, the Dems are also corrupt.; they're just willing to throw out more crumbs and maintain the illusion of some freedoms, and actually give you some as well that the GOP will ban. AIPAC, Big Pharma, oil, guns, and others have bought off most everyone in Congress. Debate all you like about whether the US is a "representative Republic" or a "Democratic Republic" or both, but they're just words.

The will of the people is not represented by who is elected - it's the will of those with power and money, and that will is to brainwash, subjugate and control. All we're doing now is choosing our captors, and sadly, one is better than the other simply because it is "less evil".

Not at all. In fact most expressions coming from the left are acceptance of his guilt and that he will be punished. And no special treatment from his father, the president. The right is still whining about Trump being found guilty though it was obvious from all the evidence. Plus Trump was given the opportunity to speak in his defense, but his lawyers knew he would fuck himself the moment he opened his mouth. And his MAGA cult knows he was guilty, but still follow him because they don't have the brains to think for themselves. So the only whining is coming from the right.

I'm on a pretty political diverse Discord server and while many "left" people weren't whining exactly, once I explained the laws behind the charges, why, and how medical/recreational marijuana users could be affected many were up in arms over it. Especially considering lying about drug use alone on a Form 4473 is prosecuted maybe a dozen a year in the US.

Was a rather interesting exchange.
I will say though that at least Hunter has a good taste in guns with that Colt Cobra 38.

Hunter was found guilty. There was not much doubt since the prosecution had the gun, the falsified form, the gun store employee and Hunters own audio book and a text that he said he was meeting his drug dealer on the day of the sale. It remains to see if he does any jail time. He does not deserve 25 years in a gulag but a couple of years in Danbury will maybe get his attention

@goaded I don't know. I bet if it was me on trial I would probably get some jail time. It is a serious charge and the length of time is really immaterial. Somebody could have been shot while hunter was stoned or somebody could have found it in the dumpster and killed some poor convenience store clerk.

Another little tidbit - the gun was never loaded while he had it. It's also very rare for someone to be charged with just that part of the law; they'll tack it on to a robbery charge or something, but almost never use it alone.

Even if he gets probation, a felony conviction means he's more likely to get a harsher sentence if he's convicted in another trial.

@goaded again, if it was you or me we would be off to the pokey. Whether the gun was loaded or not is immaterial. He purchased it illegally. There are sentencing guidelines that usually include jail time. I know he will get probation because it is Delaware in he is a Biden.

@goaded I am actually a little shocked but maybe having an acquittal on such an open and shut case would have shown the public how crooked the justice system is. The Big Guy made a deal where he is found guilty and gets probation.

I really don't care if they whine or not. What I care about, is knowing we were intentionally lied to by politicians, members of our intelligence community and a complicit media about a laptop that was supposedly planted by the Russian's. That fake laptop was Exhibit A by federal prosecutor's in a federal court. To me that is a bigger issue than Hunter Biden's or Donald Trump's conviction.
