Why does Biden and Trump refuse? Because its stupid. Also, at least one of them (Trump) has very strong allegations of using drugs. But no, its stupid regardless.
The debates is supposed to be.. about debates.. It is sort of in the name you see. The whole thing about drug testing the speakers has nothing to do with their performance at the debate and everything to do with people just wanting to drug test the person they dont like. It is a distraction.
Something like this detracts from the whole debate which is supposed to be about policies, arguments and rhetoric. Not to mention, would it ever work? Even if either candidate actually regularly used drugs they could just NOT do so immediately before going to the debate.
1. You are missing the entire point.
2. Your facts are wrong.
====
3. There is no evidence at all that President Trump was ever a user of illegal drugs and there are no "strong allegations" from any credible source that he ever was. That's just complete fantasy. As a matter of fact he doesn't even drink alcohol. He had a brother who died in his early 40s who was an alcoholic and so he said he decided he would never drink alcohol.
4. The point of the drug test is not to test for illegal drugs. The point is to make sure Joe Biden, who clearly has mental problems is not taking any medications that prop him up just for the debate so that it is covered up. If he is taking some kind of mind altering drugs (it doesn't matter if they are illegal or not) the voters who are watching the debate should know about it so they can factor that into their decision about who to vote for.
5. President Trump not only agreed that he would take any drug test but he is the one who asked them to do the test on both debate candidates. But Biden and the Democrats refused to do it.
That tells you pretty much all you need to know.
Has nothing to do with legal and illegal. It is about whether or not the American people are being cheated on and deceived or whether it is a fair debate.
Oh really?
1: Then what is the point?
2: What facts are wrong and what are the "real" facts?
3: There are many allegations by people around him, his behavior indicates it. I did not state it as fact but it certainly is a fact that many people believes it in USA and has that as motivation for why to drug test Trump.
4: I dont even know why this would be a problem. Its like saying "It would be wrong for them to take painkillers because they have a bad back. Taking painkillers would cover it up". It sounds like a complete distraction from the actual debate in my opinion. Even if we assume that Biden is taking a legal stimulant to operate better then should we not judge him in that state rather than in the state where he does not use his medication? In the end it would not matter if they used legal medication or not, since they should be doing that while president anyways as that is their "normal".
5: Irrelevant. First of all Trump is a known liar that claims to agree to many things but never actually do them once it comes time. HIs tax returns is a prime example. But this does not in any way matter since there is a legitimate reason to decline.
In the end I just dont get you. If Biden (or Trump) is using legal medication then that is completely fair in the debate.
What do you mean Trump has "very strong allegations of using drugs” Erm, source please? I can’t fckn’ stand Trump. He’s one of, if not the grossest men to hold the office. BUT, I'm intellectually honest enough to know, and say that he is VERY famously vehemently against all drugs and especially alcohol, and that he’s never had a drink of alcohol, b/c someone in his family died from alcohol abuse. You don’t need to make shit up about someone, JUST because you don’t like them. see? I hate Trump, but I didn't need to make up bullshit about him. The fact that he cheated on his wife right after she gave birth to his child, is enough to make him a disgusting human being! Also from what read, it was Trump who ASKED that they BOTH be drug tested before the debate! Not for illicit drugs, (although I’m sure that would be tested as well) He believes, Biden gets drugged on some kind of amphetamine or whenever he has to give a major speech! Judging from the way he stares vacantly at the G7 (As Italian special forces parachuted in to greet the leaders of the G7), and Biden was literally looking the WRONG WAY as a man landed RIGHT IN FRONT of him! Or how tries to shake hands with people who are not there, needs help down a SLIGHT incline. Has to take the short stares onto Air Force One, b/c he fell three times while walking up the stares, or how he tries to sit in a chair that was not there, and he needed Jill to walk him off stage right in the middle of the 80th anniversary of D-Day, and Prez Macron had to shake the hands of the only remaining survivors, instead of THEIR OWN commander in chief! Or how he mutters incoherently, or mumbles nonsensical gibberish! So it’s stuff like that, kinda makes people scratch their head when he delivers a flawless state of the union speech! So yeah, you don’t need to make shit up. The truth about BOTH of them is bad enough!
@CrazyGirl2 ... Why are you so hung up on the allegations that Trump uses drugs? If its true or not has nothing to do with my argument aside from the fact (and its a fact) that people BELIEVE there are strong allegations. But fine, lets outline some.
First of all, Trumps administration had a culture of abusing drugs:
www.reuters.com/.../
Secondly, Donald Trumps personal doctor during that time also abused his position to over-proscribe medicine to everyone around him and even got several nicknames for being essentially the white house drug dealer.
www.washingtonpost.com/.../
Thirdly, there is this picture of Trump with a bunch of drugs that can be abused in his drawer:
There are also countless medical experts online that has questioned if Trump is using drugs or not, if they are correct or not is irrelevant since we are talking about the appearance of guilt rather than actually being guilty.
@CrazyGirl2 I could go on but honestly I dont feel like there is a point to. My argument is that a large part of that "70% of Americans" who wants to drug test the presidents are probably motivated by their own beliefs, that they got from their own sources, that Trump is using drugs.
I also dont give two fucks about what Trump is "famously vehemently against/for" because he is a lying sack of shit. If he is guilty of something then he is VERY LIKELY to try to portray himself as the exact opposite. He for example is "famously vehemently for" presidential candidates releasing their tax returns but he never did. He is "famously vehemently against" pleading the 5th during court but he did it as many times as he could in the recent court cases.
He is a hypocrite. He forms "strong opinions" based on what he is guilty for as a means to try proving his own "innocence". In other words, it is very much in his character to demand something like a drug test when it benefits him but never actually go through with it. This is especially true when he knows that the other side will never agree with it anyways which allows him to freely pretend to have a moral high ground.
And again, a drug test for the debates would be a distraction from the actual debates. Its counter-productive.
@Syntosi
You are hopelessly deaf.
This has nothing to do with finding out if one or the other debate candidates is using illegal drugs. That is entirely off point.
What it has to do with is whether or not one candidate or the other is using performance enhancing drugs to deceive viewers of the debate and in particular the candidate who is obviously mentally impaired, Joe Biden.
The entire purpose of the debate is for each candidate to demonstrate their ability to be president on a level playing field. Both candidates take the drug test before the debate to make sure they are not deceiving the voters who are counting on an honest debate. And it's not a "distraction" because it would not even be seen by the public, it would happen before the debate even starts, off camera.
It is a harmless test that takes a few seconds. There cannot be any reason why Biden and the Democrats refuse except that they intend to do something deceptive. That should raise a red flag for any honest person.
The entire debate is already stacked against President Trump. The Democrats set up the entire thing to be rigged against him in their favor and then publicly challenged him to accept their invitation to debate expecting that he would turn it down because it is so unfair and then they would mock him. But to their shock, he accepted anyway and called their bluff.
Now they refuse to give Biden a drug test.
Trump will wipe the floor with this guy anyway... that is if Biden can even find the place, doesn't trip on the stairs while entering the building and even shows up at all.
I am not sure if you understand what you yourself is saying. The moment you put "A full 70% of Americans wants Biden and Trump to take a drug test" etc.. You made this about the peoples desire to make both sides take a drug test, as well as their main motivations for doing so which includes their personal beliefs that one or both are taking drugs both of the legal and illegal kind.
And yes, it would be a distraction. The debate is not about your childish notions of "their ability to be president on a level playing field". It is supposed to be about their beliefs and not who they are as a person (which includes any drugs they may or may not use. Things like policies, beliefs, values and not things like their ability to speak or their hair color or if they take drugs or not. Again, its a debate and not a dating interview.
I also find it kinda brave of you to demand a rematch when your guy already lost the first time. Normally you would want to switch out your candidate since they are very obviously not a very strong one.
Didn’t make the most of your science credits in skool, huh?
The poll you linked is 1) from “Daily Mail”, a news source that is known to lean right, and 2) the sample size is 1900 people. Even if you could produce evidence that there is zero illegitimate redundancy, the entire polling pool would be conservatives.
Also, a sample size of 1900 is inadequate to empirically correlate to the US population of 330M. Essentially, the poll is nonsense and by association, so is your question.
But i suspect you knew that already. Troll much?
And Biden refuses the drug test why?
I literally didn’t say anything of the like, you nitwits.
I agree... you didn't say anything of value at all.
The question is why Biden refuses to take a drug test.
Let me know when trump does it.
That aside, pretty sure neither do drugs, they'd croak lol... on second thought, give em both PCP
President Trump has already agreed to it no problem. Biden refuses. As a matter of fact it was President Trump who proposed it.
The point is that Biden obviously has mental incapacity and needs to prove that he's not just being propped up on drugs so he can function for 90 minutes but be incapacitated after that.
He's not going to do it because Biden didn't agree to it. Your comments are ridiculous. He doesn't need to take a drug test because he's not the one with the mental incapacity who can cheat by being hyped up on drugs. But he is perfectly willing to do it as long as Biden does. If Biden isn't willing then there's no point in it.
He also said that both of them should be inspected before the debate to make sure they aren't wearing any ear pieces during the debates either so that Biden can't have a secret earpiece with someone is giving him the answers
Biden refused that too.
If you don't understand those points there's no point discussing it any further with you.
Sweetie, I REALLY dislike Trump, but he was the one who asked for them BOTH to be tested before the debate. We can dislike a guy who cheats on his wife with a porn actress right after she gave birth to his son, and who is just a gross human being, but still acknowledge that there's definitely something terribly wrong with Biden’s mental state, and Yes, I have a degree in psychology, and I’m just finishing up my externship for my masters degree. So I do know when someone is cognitively impaired. This is why I despise politics, nobody can just make it about the issues, it HAS to be personal. I’m a life long liberal, so are my parents, so are my grandparents. My grandmother was a hippie at Berkley, we’re no conservatives. But there is definitely something wrong with Biden, sweetie. He can’t make a cogent impromptu speech without mumbling incoherently, and ending with “you know the thing”, wandering off, trying to shake hands with people who are not there, trying to sit in a chair that does not exist, or falling down. Then he suddenly delivered a FLAWLESS State of The Union speech? It is not medically possible without serious neurological medications and stimulants. I’m voting RFK! Fck ‘em both!
In my entire eight year college experience the indisputable low point was the two psychology classes I was sentenced to take. My condolences on your misfortune. My girlfriend at the time also got her undergraduate and masters in psychology. I mentioned this so that you might take solace in knowing that you are not alone in your unfortunate fate.
There was nothing unfortunate about it! I graduated high school at 16, and I earned my bachelors in psychology in 2yrs 3mos. Then I was accepted into the master degree program. I’m at the end now, with just my externship hours to complete, and my masters thesis. I was sexually abused by an uncle from ages 5 or 6 to 11. Then just 3 days after my 13th birthday, he raped me! He continued raping me almost every weekday afternoon, for 3½ months, under the continuous threat of harming my little sister if I ever told anyone, After I finally had the courage to tell my mother, I was seeing multiple therapists. All I wanted to do was end my life to stop the pain I was going through! I honestly believed I would feel this way forever! Within a year I knew I wanted to spend my life helping girls who were sexually abused, and/or raped by a family member or other trusted adults. You can joke about it and try to mock me, but of the girls between 11 and 17 who commit suicide, anywhere between 10 and 40% did so because of rape or sexual abuse! I plan on opening a free and reduce cost clinic, and eventually more than one, using my entire trust fund to do nothing but help children who were sexually abused my family members and other trusted adults. If that is funny to you, then there is something very wrong with you! Between 2011 and 2021, there was a massive increase in teenage girls committing suicide! in 2021, 13% of girls had attempted suicide. 30% had seriously considered it. In the US suicide youth rose by 36.6% from just 2018 to 2021. Likely a result of sexual abuse and rape, due to the lockdowns, as there were no schools looking for the signs of abuse! I don’t know why you would think this is somehow comical… It’s not funny, it’s not cute, and you are not clever for mocking someone who is trying to save the lives of little girls, and teens.
Wow! So you transform my lighthearted facetious comment about the study of psychology into an attempt to mock you or other girls who are victims of sexual abuse?
I don't even know where to go with that.
So I'll just quietly step away...
Thank you @RingOfFire for not escalating this. I truly appreciate that. Obviously as a survivor of familial sexual abuse and rape, and who has suffered with insomnia, depression, and anxiety since it happened due to the PTSD that resulted from the rape and sexual abuse, I don’t find anything light hearted, or humorous about those who dedicate their lives to helping people who suffer with mental trauma. I will freely admit, that my response to you early this morning was way too heavy handed, and for that I apologize! I should have left it to reply after I had time to think about it. Responding in the “heat of emotion” is never an appropriate time to respond to anything, and my parents taught me better than that! I’m sorry for coming across so strongly. I truly believe that what I am doing is a noble and honorable profession. My mother (a physician and trauma surgeon) believed I would do better as an MD and a psychiatrist, so I have my own personal issues with people belittling the profession of psychology, and making their own facetious comments. But that has nothing to do with you, and I should not have reacted so strongly to your comment. Even within the psychological community we joke that a BS in psychology basically means that you know about as much about psychology as the average adult! So again I apologize, and I hope you can understand my overreaction, given my own personal history.
Thanks again.
Laura 😔
Although we have some significant areas of disagreement on certain topics, you constantly impress me @CrazyGirl2.
Just when I think you've lost me for good, you do something so spectacular that I cannot help but come back for more.
Apology completely accepted. I know you understand this but I just want to explain it briefly anyway. I had no way of knowing that the reason you were pursuing your education in psychology had anything to do with being abused as a child. Had I known that I would have not even attempted a friendly joke about what you were studying (which was what that was intended to be).
Now that I know what you went through, I have nothing but compassion for what you suffered and admiration for your noble endeavor to help others with similar misfortune.
And now that I know I can understand your sensitivity after what you went through.
Thank you for your message Laura. I understand.
Thank you so much! I appreciate your kind words, and your understanding of what I went through from age 5 or 6, to age 13, and why I’m so defensive of my chosen profession. You are one of the few rare people who are willing to at least listen to people who do not agree with absolutely everything you write. You are a true gentleman and a scholar.
Thanks again.
Laura. 🤗 🥰

Yeah they should take a drug test because there's no way there's not going to be the Manhattan project of stimulants being done on Biden for this.
Why is it necessary? You can tell if somebody’s drunk or not
It's not an alcohol test it's a drug test to see if Biden is taking drugs to boost him so he can get through the debate. You cannot necessarily tell when someone takes these drugs and the public has a right to know if the candidates are cheating or not.
Then sure test him but you’ll have to do Trump to
Trump has no objection to it. He's fine with it. But Biden won't let them do it.
I know and I’m supporting Trump
Biden probably doesn’t want to get busted
That's exactly my point. People should know about this.
Exactly good job telling them
