Back when I had a few women vying for my affections in college.
Back when I was a junior assistant Scoutmaster, I was put over the Den Chiefs and Troop Guides. I could demote chiefs and guides not doing their job. Humble brag but I never needed to use this power because I trained them.

+1 yI was in the Navy and there was a shipmate who hated me for some reason. He was my Second-Class Petty Officer, and he ordered me to install a sound-powered communications circuit by running a new cable through each and every bulkhead of the 564-foot-long ship. But to do that would cost tens of thousands of dollars in materials and at least three weeks to complete.
I did it in a week.
He didn't believe me, and I handed him the completion form, signed by the Chief Engineer and the captain.
He threatened to write me up for Captain's Mast for disobeying his direct order by not running a new cable. I looked him dead in the eye and told him to go ahead! "I'd love to tell the captain how I saved him tens of thousands of dollars by using a pair of spare wires in a cable containing countless spare wires. I'd also love to report you for harassing me."
I guess he didn't think I knew how to read the ship's blueprints!

As for powerful:
-Every time I stood up for someone. It felt right, it felt powerful, it made me feel free in ways that nothing else has ever made.
-When I left a job mid-shift in a really cinematic way.
-When I defended myself in dangerous situations.34 Reply- +1 y

m +1 yA few times, leaving school with A levels, getting engineering bursary, getting accepted by University, getting Degree and then getting the job I wanted. At each event, there was a wow moment and I felt really great, amazing. I know I will no doubt have other moments, however those are my main ones for now.

+1 yThe time when, after two and a half months of scrounging, having just enough calories to starve more slowly (including literally passing out from overexerting more than once), I finally got to sit down and eat an entire pizza.
That rush- the surge of energy flowing back into your body, of power returning to you- is like nothing I've ever experienced, or hope to again; it was joyous, but also terrifying. It's like the end of Highlander.
11 ReplyWhen I became a manager at a young age I definitely got rather a power trip. And then of course several times in certain sexual situations, I felt incredibly powerful.
Also after coming back from a massive road accident when I got hit by a truck while riding a motorcycle and suffered polytrauma including a fractured hip and collapsed lung and then 5 months later managed to run a 21km race and beat my previous personal best time for that distance, I felt pretty powerful. Like I could do anything despite medical doctors not believing in me and other people all thinking it was impossible.

Let’s start saying I never felt powerful but I can say for sure during last months I felt a bit more powerful than before because I have been given a major managing role at work.

12 Reply6K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. I'm not sure I've ever felt powerful and now that I know how small life is I don't think I ever could. Even relative to the world, the only real power is other people and I've never been able to manipulate anyone, as it causes me vague physical pain when a word I don't believe crosses my lips.

I haven’t done it in years. But in Highschool I did it a lot. Had a lot of bad trips but also had a lot of good ones too. When I had the good ones I had this confidence that I could do anything and it gave me so much energy. If you ever take it make sure you have a plan or a to do list so you don’t get lost.
