Thoughts on the new crowned Miss Alabama 2024?

This was asked before.
My answer has not changed but you need to be clear in your questioning to eliminate ambiguity. The way you worded this question, it comes off as a troll. Either that or you did not do your due diligence since it is obvious that this young lady would not have been in the Miss America or Miss USA/Miss Universe pageant system.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
First, this young lady, Sara Milliken, is not "Miss Alabama" because, traditionally, "Miss Alabama" is within the "Miss America" pageant system. There's also a "Miss Alabama USA" who can win "Miss USA" who then competes in the "Miss Universe" pageant.
Ms. Milliken is the winner of the state pageant for Alabama in the "National American Miss" pageant system.

National American Miss pageant: Fact checking its award claims
By Glenn Kessler
May 25, 2015 at 3:00 a. m. EDT
This is a bit of departure for The Fact Checker, since we normally focus on political statements. A reader’s daughter received this letter in the mail; in fact, many students in the girl’s school received similar letters. Perhaps mindful of John Oliver’s takedown of the Miss America contest, the reader asked us to vet the numbers in the solicitation. (Note that the letter above has “college scholarships” in boldface type.) So we decided to investigate and are presenting the results as a reader service for families considering participation in National American Miss contests.
The Facts
The National American Miss is a pageant contest for girls in either five different age groups (at the state level) or six (at the national level), ranging from as young as age 4 to as old as 20. The organization bills itself as less of a “beauty pageant” and more as a way to help girls build confidence and communication skills. About 60 percent of the scoring is based on communications skills rather than appearance. For participants under the age of 12, there is a “no make-up” rule. (Here are some videos of recent competitions.)

So, given what the NAM pageant system and WashPo say it is, I have no problem with this young lady winning "Miss Alabama" for her age group in the NAM pageant system.
Did she eat the other contestants?
Would it be any worse than someone like this running?
they just trying to be woke or else there is no way

All the “miss so and so’s” has become a giant parody of itself in the last 10 years. All about “woke inclusion” and far removed from reality to what real beauty standards are.
Just let these shows keep doing this and watch their popularity drop like a rock.
Hang on a second. She was the winner of the National American Miss pageant, which is not the same thing as the Miss USA pageant. The Miss Alabama pageant for the Miss USA title runs from June 26th to June 29th. 40 women are competing for that title, and you can check them out here:
It just goes to show that the commies don't know their enemy... Bama look at women fishing, hunting, and tailgating or cheer leading in college football, not in beauty pageants. Simple things like this is why it's so easy to beat commies. They're just lazy. There's no incentive to do their job correctly under a socialist system. So they fail at everything.
She looks like she's about to have a heart attack.
I don't bother with any of this rubbish but it seems people are trying to glorify being overweight. Surprised they do not all make sure trans contestants win.
Who cares. Pageants are stupid and the only people who are upset about this are upset because she’s trans.
Um, she is not trans though
this shit is happening lot's of places on the planet. we're being gaslit by media.
I'm impressed. You've gotten really good at Photoshop.
How'd you make the image wider without making it taller?
@Inbox It's not moronic at all. Your assumption is that people should only be valued on beauty when, in reality, that's not the case.
Considering that young people are particularly susceptible to "judgment" (look at all the judgment questions here from girls), encouraging and lauding them for what they are good and special at is good... good for them and good for everyone.
@abc3643 Yet, by that logic, beauty also applies to dating - if you want explore value based on other skills, it should be skill based specific, like the UFC or a Spelling contest.
Granted, I don’t know much about NAM, but when you put a name such as “National American Miss,” it comes off highly similar to beauty pageant.
Even the way they rewarded her strongly reminds me of Miss Universe. It’s a double edged sword with either organization.
Are 16 year old that dumb that they can't Google and confirm it before accusing?
@Inbox I was talking to the opinion owner
@Inbox No worries, good sir
Honestly she looks excessive even by my standards.
Voting for relatives was probably wasn't allowed so there weren't many choices left
Shut down these beauty pageants immediately!
I am so sick of the degenerate left promoting and celebrating obesity.
She looks like a couple if states put together 🤣
*of states
wait... I thought body positivity was a good thing? why the negativity?
LOL..
I believe it's morally wrong to participate in competing in any type of "beauty pageant", regardless of what your true sex is
"Sugar" coating
Those competitions are not important anyway. Body building competitions are though 😄
They aren't better either in my opinion, they look like kind of bloated ninja turtles compared to Greek Gods back in the 70s
Greek gods aren't real!
Nah, body builders are hot 🥵
Yeah especially those from 70s and 80s are smoking hot !
(I'm straight)
At least it's a woman.
She will get KFC endorsements.
Enough with these super obese women!
