So I was GOING to say:

Are there other Marylands out there? Is there a "Miss Maryland Tunisia" contest? How about "Miss Maryland Saint Vincent and the Grenadines"? I'm tempted to start a "Miss Maryland Florida" contest.

But apparently, it's even stupider than I thought: not only are "Miss America" and "Miss USA" separate pageants, but "Miss USA" and "Miss United States" are separate (and no, "Miss United States" doesn't include the United States of Mexico, which would at least be SOME justification.

So instead, I'm tempted to start a "Miss Actually Capable Of Doing Something Beyond Looking Pretty" pageant (MACODSBLP, I guess) for women with actually noteworthy skills, like aircraft mechanics or stacking boxes or, I don't know, starting up stupid pageants. But they'll do it behind black screens, or in burqas or something, so it WON'T actually be a disguised "come and ogle the pretty girls" event. Hell, maybe I'll make it an "ogling the pretty girls" pageant, where a bunch of women in burqas look past the camera to ogle performers at a strip club. I'm sure it'd confuse the hell out of Al-Qeda, so hey, bonus points.

As to your actual question- I'm kind of curious what part of Asia the name "Kennedy" is from; while I wouldn't be particularly surprised to find that Ireland had somehow seceded from Europe and joined another continent, I think I'd've heard of it by now.

I've never paid attention to beauty pageants. Every once is a while someone posts that this person I never heard about or that person I never heard about won one and I care even less.
