Does anyone else pay close attention to foreign elections? I was really interested in the UK and French elections?

I think Americans tend to not pay attention to other countries.

I don't. That's far too much to keep track of. I don't want to dedicate that much time to it. If anything substantial happens, I'll eventually hear about it.

I don't even pay much attention to elections in my own country. There are thousands of them.

Realistically, election results make very little difference.

Most Americans don't even know who our own representatives, city, and state level politicians are or even participate in those elections if the president isn't on the ballot, let alone pay attention to foreign politics. I do, but that's because I find it interesting.

I follow international politics, even as an American. A lot of people in our country and particularly our mainstream media, pay only passing interest to foreign politics I’ve always felt other nation’s leadership was both interesting as well as valuable for predicting the future our nation will take.

Those countries elections are important to us, but not as much as you might think given that the UK Conservatives didn't actually govern too differently from Labour and the French "center" is allied with the left and far left, meaning not much really changes.

I find it interesting how the western leaders sell out their own people in exactly the same way like importing people who will vote for leftist leaders when the native population wouldn't. Forcing people of different cultures to live with each other then passing of such experiments as a success. They won in france so I guess their plan was a success to them unlike it was for the natives who have lost everything like their say and country as a whole.

I'm a Brit and after living in the US and Canada for extended periods I keep a track of the Elections in both countries.

When I posted a question about England the Americans were interested and the foreigners were very curious why I was interested in a different country. You guys literally don't give us a fucking chance.
