It's an ear laceration. The skin would be stretched and stitched to cover the cartilage thus the stitches would take a minimum of 14 days to heal. Typically you put antibiotic ointment on the stitches and keep them covered with gauze to prevent infection and reduce scaring. It could take take longer depending on the situation.

Now that we're hearing he may not have been shot directly but just a piece of shrapnel that ricocheted, he'll have to leave it on for a lot longer to milk it for dramatic effect. Eh he'll do that anyway as long as it keeps getting him attention.

Trump got rid of the bandage last night. It was Fridays speech he made in West Palm beach. He had it for almost two weeks- not the same bandage. I am sure it was changed a few times.
