Iowa has now made it illegal to kill unborn children who are more than 6 weeks old. What do you think about this?

It's too restrictive for my preference, but it's not my state and not my business. I'd be more concerned if they were expanding the timeframe past the point of viability, because then we'd be taking about, what I consider to be, a full on human life. Which is capable of living outside of the mom. I think early abortions are good for society and keep the worst people from spreading their genes. Second trimester abortions get a bit dicey because the baby starts developing nerves, so they can actually feel the pain of being ripped apart. Easy fix with anaesthesia though. Which will never happen because psychopaths can't understand the pain of others.

I'm an Iowan. They're giving you a 6 week window. We all know how baby's are made. If you're too lazy to get you 💩 together and murder your offspring in that time why should anyone feel bad for you. Know what I'm saying.

Consequently I do not care much about this law. I do Not care much for Kim Reynolds and she's not doing this for the children. Anything she's doing for them is purely coincidental.

Iowa was only 1 of 5 states in the union that DIDN'T shut down during the pandemic. One has to ask Kim why the sanctity of life ONLY matters with babies. Oh that's right. Because this is how she advances in her party.

Not surprising, but still wrong. They choose 6 weeks because some women won't even realize they are pregnant basically forcing them to have the child even in medical emergencies that affect the life of the mother or in cases like rape or incest. Basically, it's men legislating forced pregnancy on women so they have more control.

Well when they pass bans like this it affects those like children who are raped or grown women who need one in order to save their lives, especially in the cases where the baby is already dead inside her.

i actually think they always do make this exception. there are special circumstances for abortion. i understand why a child would be hesitant for weeks to confess her rape. i can see her not doing it at all and taking matters into her own hand and probably causing herself serious harm or death. that's why we have to read the whole bill to fully grasp the meaning.

Apparently the Iowans are in agreement that most Iowans are in agreement that after 6 weeks a fetus is a person. When the majority of them decide that it no longer is then they will elect different legislators and change the law. That is how the system works.

Dumb af considering at 6 weeks a woman has only known about her pregnancy for 2 weeks at most. Doctors won't even start seeing pregnant women or getting ultrasounds till 12ish weeks so if a medical abortion is needed is basically impossible to know at 6 weeks

Good in my opinion, provided there are the usual exceptions for medical emergencies, rape, etc. People say 6 weeks you can barely tell, nonsense. You know if you had sex or not, you know how safe that sex was. If you think it was unsafe you can do a pregnancy test. 6 weeks is also longer than the period of most women so when it is delayed there is still time to do a test. If its a bit longer than ok, but has to be before the brain or heart develops.

Wait until their daughters are bleeding out on an ER waiting room floor and are rejected emergency care as that mother's-life-saving treatment would "abort" an already void/dead embryo or improperly attached egg.

I think it's an OK compromise for a terrible tragedy. If you don't like it, use birth control or keep your pants zippered and your legs closed, it's that simple. I often pondered at the idea of how many great minds have been eliminated through abortion including the next Einstein. But apparently it's wrong to ponder such things, but I give 0 F's to what others think.
