B52 bombers, US tanks, infantry and artillery are all being moved to borders near Ukraine. New plans for massive movement of military equipment and troops from the US have been drawn up and agreed to by NATO allies.

Even in the Cold War these types of movements and pre-positioning weren’t done. After years of war in Ukraine these movements weren’t done. But now they are happening.

Young voters need to understand that they may be voting for a generational changing war.

This was going on even without US involvement, there has been a lot of work up of both Sweden and Finland. Also there have been specific movement corridors in place for NATO logistics for decades I think since the 1950’s, the ones mentioned are new ones. Your comment about even in Cold War this was not done is a tad incorrect, Reforger exercises happened for years, some were fairly large affairs.

Steadfast Defender was going on earlier in the year and is wrapping up in Eastern Europe, the UK has been heavily committed in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Sweden and Finland. Exercise Air Defender is going on at present in Germany, 250 plus aircraft deployed. This stuff goes on fairly often, most years see a large exercise. There is a norther QRA, a Southern QRA, a Baltic QRA, this stuff goes on day in day out. It is not all about American politics.

This seems more like pre-positioning and new bases whereas reforger was practicing the moving of divisions to Europe coupled with some training exercises and then troops went home after a couple of months.

Background to some of it, it is expensive to keep Ramstein going. A lot of rebasing occurred in to Poland, the new ish Romanian base is best placed to cover southern Europe, also why there needs to be new logistic routes. This was on the cards for years www.rferl.org/.../30291193.html
A while back the start of rebasing started, the RAF left Germany, army units also moved back, then we set up bases in Baltic and other places. Romania is just one of the various phases.

I actually agree with the moves east but why didn’t they happen 20 to 25 years ago? Poland joined nato in the 1999. So why now? Sweden and Finland joined but did that make such a difference in stationing troops and equipment? I don’t know. It just seems provocative now along with talk of moving tactical nukes eastward.

It took the RAF 10 years to leave Germany, the army nearly 20 years. With Sweden and Finland joining there was a reset of responsibility zones. Historically the UK cover Norway, Low Countries and rest of Northern Europe. The allied reaction force was stood up start of July 2024, this replaced Nato response Force. That all is part of reposturing in Europe, I think the end result will be UK, Scandinavian countries and Baltics responsible for the north, France and Germany Central and the rest the south, with large hubs in each sector.

Whoever believes they can win a war against Russia, is beyond lost and stupid, there is even no point in talking to them. Russians are not Europeans or American soy, emotional snowflakes. Both their government and their cold stone population have zero problems sending all of their men, women and children to protect their Motherland.

I'm sorry my man, but Russia is not and will not run out of equipment anytime soon, infcat they are producing more things than ever before, but for argument sake let's say they are, they have their best friend next door China, China would be MORE than happy to send whatever they have so 1. they can make some serious coins and two to see how their equipment works in real world, so they might improve when not if but when they decide to go to war themselves.

I would not be surprised if they tried -but that would be contingent with them surviving the next Election. Though given the way that the Dems have buggered up the US economy I doubt that they'll get through the next Election with any significant numbers in either Congress or the Senate as Dems voters especially in Black and Latino districts have seen how much they have been played by the Dems

Never underestimate the power of Identity Politics. Blacks who would have voted for Trump will vote for Harris solely because she is black. Single women will vote for her solely because she is a woman. It is obvious to all but it does work. They will complain later about how they now need to take the bus and cannot afford food and utilities.

I t looks like we will be in several wars. The US pays the lions share as usual and the NATO counties will not pay thir share. The democrats will let them get away with it.

Hopefully NATO countries continue to pay more as that is starting but Trump did that so I don’t know if it will continue if he does not get elected. The Europeans and Canadians need to know that it is not just Trump, many of US voters feel taken advantage of by them and it will continue.

The US President is Commander and Chief of US armed forces of course and has the last say on where troops go. Those forces are the primary punch that NATO has to offer. It was claimed in 2015 that Trump would start wars yet he started none. Biden has now committed us to defend Taiwan which was never done before. Many here also feel that the Democrats are also chiding Russia enough to have them in initiate a war which would eventually lead to the use of tactical nukes. And now we have war raging in the Middle East. At this point the Democrats seem more interested in sparking a war than the Republicans but for what reason I don’t know.

For all the bluster Republicans present online, the only real thing of substance they’ve ever done was January 6th, which was full of feds entrapping them. It’s not impossible, but I feel mainstream republicans will just complain loudly. At worst we’ll have states declaring themselves sanctuary states for various constitutional rights. It will likely devolve later, but not within 4 years.

The Establishment, mostly led by mainstream Democrats have repeatedly and consistently shown a desire for war in Eastern Europe, Northern Africa and the Middle East. The likelihood things continue to get worse globally is very high.

Domestically many radical Leftists have rioted, enacted autonomous zones, ended people and been largely ignored by police. They also live to use existential rhetoric to encourage unrest and violence. If the GOP wins, it will be the Summer of Love all over again, only x10 worse. It’ll be a bad time to live in the cities. Coupled with the likelihood the Fed will let the economy fail under a Republican it will be a recipe for chaos. To be fair, you could argue a US in civil strife could push our rivals to enact their long term plans against Taiwan, South Korea, Ukraine, etc. but that’s harder to predict.

I don’t want to kill as that is a risk to my soul. I think many conservatives feel that way. I would support a break up of states if things get bad. The issue is conservatives are good people. Once the economy fail it will change everything. As for foreign wars, conservatives are the ones who generally do the fighting. This time we will be the draft dodgers, war protesters etc along with the usual ones. No more blood for other nations.

That would require conservative guys like me and mine volunteering which we won’t do anymore as DEI has taken over the US military and the country is not what it used to be so there is less motive to defend the current culture. And Europeans won’t even defend themselves much less pay for it and I will not ask anyone to fight for them. I don’t care if Germany is overrun. We will make peace with the winners.
