Do you feel pity for others?

My stepdad taught me that feeling pity for others is a good thing because the world is so cruel and if I can do something to make their day better I should do it. As long as ot doesn't put me in danger or my kindness isn't being taken advantage of.

I think on average…we all like doing good for others. We like watching feel good videos of animals…etc.

But when the chips are down I think humanity turns personal. Not sure that’s a bad thing…

Yes but the only people I pity are people of my social circle for all the rest I don´t have time. It sounds harsh but otherwise I wouldn´t do anything else.

As a Christian, we are called to be kind to those in need.

I do. Sometimes to the point that people will take my kindness for softness which is why I'm very selective who I show that side of me to. It's always better to pity and remain silent.
