I guarantee some time between now and election day he actually claims he was the one who did it. For now he's been resorting to lying about us paying Russia or lifting sanctions to do it, which of course isn't true. Even Vance had to try and spin it saying that the hostage release was really about Trump lol. He's taken credit for things Obama and Biden did before so it's only a matter of time.
