1 yI find most republicans to be "responsbility" ists. they expect people to take responsbility for themselves, work hard, and be successful. they don't go around blaming others for their plight.
I don't know what being racist even means in context at this point... when president biden says "you aren't black enough", there are specific black events... but not white events... then aren't they being racist?
Is it racist to start a foundation to help poor white people? Because it isn't racist to have a foundation to help black people, or poor chinese people. all race determinants depending how you define it.
we see democrats divide people by race all the time where republicans don't as much. Is it racist to ignore specific sub groups cultural issues... that is what republicans do... ignore the past and move on. Democrats reflect on the traumas of specific black past and use it to justify accomodations. They don't do that with any other group, maybe American Indian.
it gets confusing ya know...
talking about race gets into culture... culture makes more sense. should both talk about culture?

Why does no one here seem to acknowledge the party realignment and Nixon southern strategy? Reagan Democrats?
1 yThose with power are afraid of one thing, loosing that power. They see other races as a threat to that power. The more people in that race the more power they have.

I see that. Like when Trump lost the last election.

That's why they call themselves conservatives.

1 yThis sounds incredibly bias right from the start. I mean Democrats are obviously more racist since they constantly segregate the population into categories instead of viewing individuals. I mean for instance, identity politics is a democrat game... not a republican one.
I mean it's Democrat rhetoric to call Republicans racist even though republicans were the first to have BIPOC individuals amongst their ranks, and the slaves were not freed under Democrats.
But whatever, I can tell you cut in the Democrat Kool-Aid line (Jim Jones reference) and won't consider anything I say further. You're part of the hypocritical cult.

There is also a huge difference between a race realist and a racist. Learn the difference first and then re-analyze those around you. I bet a Republican is more likely to have black friends and black people they respect than you. You racist.

Anonymous(36-45)1 yAs a Southerner, I find your comments about the South to be quite inflammatory. First of all, we didn't start the "Civil War" as you call it. We succeeded from the Union. Then the Yankees came down here, prancing on their high horse acting like they owned the place. That's why we call it the "War of Northern Agression." They looted are houses, burned or fields, raped our daughters.
Secondly, racism wouldn't even exist if that tyrant Abe Lincoln hadn't been so irresponsible and desperate for votes. We had no choice but to shoot him in the head, take over the federal government, and create Black Codes. Before he stuck his nose where it didn't belong we all got along great.
Thirdy, if we hadn't taken slaves, where would you be? Doing voodoo in an African dessert. You're welcome.

Their recent nonissue making it an issue is against Hispanics, claiming that all are illegal immigrants and committing crimes. The number of illegals who have committed crimes since entering is at a much lower % than actual citizens.

Why are democrats so incredibly fucking stupid?
You call Trump and other republicans, racists, but you kiss Joe's ass like he's your fucking saviour when HE'S the fucking racist!!21 Reply- 1 y
No, that's literally what you've been doing with Trump for years. Unlike you, Democrats don't put their guy on a damn cross.

Fact check: Democratic Party did not found the KKK, did not start the Civil War
- 1 y
Friendly reminder that if you support the Democrat Party, you support the party that founded the KKK and start a civil war to keep their slaves," claims an image of a tweet Instagram user @Snowflake. tears shared June 19.
Many Instagram users read between the lines for the tweet’s implication about the modern Democratic and Republican parties. Some argued this past action discredited current liberal policies, while others said it did not matter.
- 1 y
PROVE IT.
- 1 y
Everyone knows that Abraham Lincoln fought to free the slaves, but he also created the Republican Party, and was the leader of it to help fight to free the slaves, yet it’s said that most black people still vote for Democrats who fought to keep the slaves,” user @shrukenshmuck commented.
“I’m a conservative but I find this argument pretty stupid because clearly that’s not what they support anymore, values change overtime,” user @james. dubee wrote.
- 1 y
Historians agree that although factions of the Democratic Party did majorly contribute to the Civil War's start and the KKK's founding, it is inaccurate to say the party is responsible for either.
Instagram user @Snowflake. tears has not returned USA TODAY’s request for comment.
This is not a new argument
Princeton University Edwards Professor of American History Tera Hunter told USA TODAY that this trope is a fallback argument used to discredit current Democratic Party policies.
- 1 y
At the core of the effort to discredit the current Democratic Party is the refusal to accept the realignment of the party structure in the mid-20th century,” Hunt said.
In September, NPR host Shereen Marisol Maraji called the claim, “one of the most well-worn clapbacks in modern American politics.”
Comedian Trevor Noah tackled the misleading trope on an episode of "The Daily Show" in March 2016, after two CNN contributors debated the topic.
- 1 y
Every time I go onto Facebook I see these things: ‘Did you know the Democrats are the real racist party and did you know the Republicans freed the slaves?’” Noah joked. “A lot of people like to skip over the fact that when it comes to race relations, historically, Republicans and Democrats switched positions.”
A similar meme attributing the claim to U. S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Ben Carson has been circulating on social media since November 2016.
- 1 y
Who started the KKK? That was Democrats. Who was the party of slavery? Who was the part of Jim Crow and segregation? Who opposed the Civil Rights Movement? Who opposed voting rights? It was all the Democrats,” the meme reads.
Other posts making more specific claims about the Democratic Party starting the Civil War or founding the KKK continue to circulate.
This trope was rated false by PolitiFact and the Associated Press in October 2018.

Yes, the founders of the KKK were former Confederate soldiers. It does not say what political party they belonged to However I found this in Wikipedia, "The Klan declined in strength in part because of internal weaknesses; its lack of central organization and the failure of its leaders to control criminal elements and sadists. More fundamentally, it declined because it failed to achieve its central objective – the overthrow of Republican state governments in the South:"
- 1 y
It could of some other political party other then democrats. Wikipedia it not a reliable source cause anyone can edit things. Any college professor will not accept Wikipedia as a source. So neither do I
- 1 y
Maybe an encyclopedia might have something.
- 1 y
I highly doubt that. From what I hear, the KKK is a secret society like the Freemason's. So they might get in trouble if devolve any info. If they started in the south. Mostly, they are Republicans. No matter if your republican or Democrat. Everyone has their prejudice.

True. But it seems to me that a lot of Republicans are more so.

You believe what you want and I'll believe what I want.
Anonymous(18-24)1 yDemocrats are way more racist, intentionally fanning the flames of racism to keep pushing their agenda forward where no issue exists. Go into Nancy Pelosi's house and see how many black friends she has.
