Smoking weed.

Ok, I accept of course that to someone who doesn't smoke him-/ herself it stinks; but Weed is not more dangerous nor addictive than Alcohol or Tobacco is... both are legal. Legal Opioid Painkillers are pushed onto the population and are also far more addictive and damaging than Cannabis.

Cannabis, and all products derived from the plant, never got prohibited due to health concerns.

The first time Cannabis got prohibited was around the same time as the Alcohol prohibition in the US. Both Cannabis and Ethanol (Alcohol) have medical purposes; and the Petroleum Sector, which has a monopoly on the Pharmaceutical sector, did not want competitions. The Petroleum Sector lobbied for prohibition at the US government and won.

Fast-Forward a few decades: Richard Nixon hated Blacks and Anti-War Protestors. He linked Cannabis use to the Anti-War protestors and Cocaine use to Blacks, had both Drugs being prohibited and US prisons started to fill up with Nixon's Nemeses.
