I wouldn't go to a restaurant with a robotic waitress. You might as well cook at home if robots are going to be cooking your food and serving you. I don't mind vending machines for things like convenience stores being that vending machines can be open 24/7. Some places automation makes sense. Other places it is completely outside the business model. The entire idea behind restaurants is that some skilled human is cooking you good food so that you don't have to, and staff is serving you. That's why everything is more expensive, you are paying people to do what you'd have to do. If robots are doing it, then prices would have to reflect grocery store prices.
No, it would create a large amount of unemployment in a low paid sector, the costs of the robots, the hardware and software lifecycle will be more than waiting staff. Your average restaurant is on multiple levels, has stairs, is often in a building built before 1900.
then people order various drinks, largers, beers, cocktails, how do they get from robot to table without being spilt and making sure the coke zero goes to right person, that the person who did not want ice, gets the correct drink.
No it’s a fucking stupid idea.
I see why this is a good idea for you. The waitresses have all rejected you and this robot that can't say no is a little classier than a blow up doll.
my only question is, would you still have to tip them?

Absofuckinglutely not!
I HATE interacting with bots and AI.
I wouldn't patronize anyplace that used robots. Talking to them is frustrating and degrading.
Isn't the goal for all the work to be done by robots so humans can live in leisure? If only abject poverty wasn't a consequence every time a robot takes a job.
I don't want the hassle of transferring the plates to the table myself.
Poppy ain't no waitress 😈
It would be okay at a family style place. Kids would probably think it was cool but at a fine dining place it would probably be weird.
Should the posters and moderators all be replaced by AI?
No. Robots aren’t as good at flirting.
No but maybe the gay men servers should be.
Nope
Yes, I'm working on a partition right now
Okay. Your partition will not take away all jobs
All waitresses want is big tips and they don't care about their customers
Incorrect
why?
Because of their practices and the people on gag, they don't like waitresses at all. Human Waitresses always flirts with their customers so they can get big tips on what they normally get. And self-serving robots solve lots of problems.
I've never seen people on this site complain about waitresses.
