The National Labor Relations Act is socialism. Unions are socialism. Social security is socialism. The Fair Labor Standards Act is socialism. Obamacare is socialism. The Civil Rights Act is socialism. The Occupational Health and Safety Act is socialism. The Family Medical Leave Act is socialism. FDR is a socialist. JFK is a socialist. Lyndon Johnson is a socialist. Carter is a socialist. Clinton is a socialist. Obama is a socialist. Biden is a socialist. And much, much more.

government is basically paying taxes to provide services for the taxpayers. Police, fire departments, public schools and road maintenance for example.

When the government gets involved with giving benefits for people who do not pay taxes or taxing one group to give to another group it is socialism.

According to their ideologues or should I say demagogues, it's everything just slightly deviating from free-market Manchester capitalism. Well, if the free market were the only system to follow it would mean the United States would have no domestic car manufacturers anymore, as they all took federal loans and guarantees during the financial crisis.

They basically think anything where the government meddles with the free market is socialism. As a European I do find them take that to far at times, but there are also times where they are right.

At least in the United States there is no free market. There is just corruption and illusions.

The solution of a lack of a functioning free market is returning to a functioning free market. I agree with the left that late stage capitalism where its a bunch of powerful monopolies is undesirable I just don't agree with their conclusion that capitalism the issue. To me they just need to shake the field a bit by cutting up monopolies and/or having proper regulation against company's and then it can keep going again. Corruption is indeed a big issue.

Capitalism and "free" markets in general are both nothing but excuses for income inequality via corruption.

Income inequality is needed, it makes people aspire to contribute to society and makes society function. The whole communist thing doesn't work unless there are infinite resources and no communist ever told me how to distribute everything correctly when there aren't. Income inequality isn't the issue as long as its merit based. The issue is when corporations become more powerful than governments and turn against the citizens.
