Yes and no, those who believe them having knowledge gives them power are dangerous to an organisation etc. Having knowledge is about sharing it, not having that knowledge as a basis for power. Being the one guy who knows how to do a certain job and protecting that knowledge from others, just makes him a fuckwit. Having knowledge and sharing that knowledge is where it should be.

I agree but I don't think it's the greatest power. Only very specific things actually equate to power. Knowledge about fossils what power will that actually bring you? The only knowledge that really brings power is the one of how to move people emotionally, how to capitalize on whatever people are interested in right now, knowledge on how to grab peoples attention in the first place. Knowledge of how to speak in a way that makes people want to listen to you. Knowledge of how to look appealing and speak in a appealing way, have appealing body language etc. But even people who are knowledgable in those things can't predict the moods of the population all the time they are also just riding a wave. This is why the most powerful and wealthy people have their money spread all over the place so that no matter which way things will go they will benefit from it.

But general knowledge doesn't really get you anywhere in my opinion. It can help you make better decisions in life and be more cultured and intellectual. But actual power you have to play political games and be popular and serve the interests of other people who also have power some general knowledge won't get you anywhere. How many scientists and teachers and academics are there and how many of them actually have any power? And the ones that do only have power over students and teachers and other academics they don't have any power over general society.

In the past I was the complete opposite of this and I wanted it to be that way I was glad that I didn't want anything from other people I just wanted them to stay away from me so if I wasn't appealing that was fine. Now I'm more comfortable with people and I'm more interested in being social so I'm leaning more toward being appealing to others. But I don't think I'll ever go to the level of politicians or anything like that. But it's a very interesting topic for sure.

I think on a large scale yes, but not on an individual scale. Where I live it's STREET smarts that get you power, not book smarts.
