Why does the American healthcare system SUCK SO BAD? Do other countries actually have quality healthcare that services fast?

It baffles my mind how far and away, America spends far more on healthcare than any other country in the world.

Yet our healthcare ABSOLUTELY SUCKS.

I mean FOR F^CK’S SAKE I literally spent 2 hours in a waiting room just to get a thorn removed from my neck.

The procedure itself only took 2 minutes.

And there were only 3 people in front of me when I checked into the waiting room.

Why the hell does it take them so d^mn long to do anything?

AND I LIVE IN MASSACHUSETTS.

Which supposedly has among the best healthcare in the country. A blue state, nonetheless.

And before I went to the ER, I accidently went to a mental hospital instead.

And the receptionist there was literally SUCH AN ASSH*LE FOR NO REASON.

He literally took 3 WHOLE FCKING MINUTES to scold me and explain “we can’t help you here”, just for an honest mistake. He would’ve kept going but I literally had to fcking cut him off and say “yeah we get it dipshit”

Literally didn’t even make a single sympathetic comment about the thorn stuck deep in my neck and was such an assh*le for literally no reason.

And as I walked down the hallway of the Emergency room, I saw several empty rooms.

It wasn’t like the hospital workers WERE UNDER ANY KIND OF STRESS OR PRESSURE.

They were all smiling at eachother, laughing at eachother.

AND THIS WAS IN AN EMERGENCY ROOM

Oh and by the way, my transgender friend up in Maine who had an infected bladder literally spent 13 hours in an emergency room just waiting to check into a room.

The room itself was filled with literally HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE.

And by the way, it wasn’t until 36 HOURS after he got a waiting room, that they finally actually treated his bladder.

And his bladder WAS LITERALLY AT RISK OF EXPLODING AT ANY MOMENT.

So in all sincerity,

WHY DOES American HEALTHCARE SUCK SO BADLY.

And is it like this in other developed countries?

Forgot to mention, there was an injured guy in the waiting room limping badly because he got injured from construction equipment.

They just watched him limping around and made him walk back to the front desk and DIDN’T EVEN THINK TO offer him a wheelchair

I have seen some documentaries and YouTube videos that show that the reason health care in the United States is very terrible is because doctors refuse to help patients because they don't want to spend money on taking care of them, if they don't take care of the patients. people, they make more money, and I also saw that the government is behind this as they also bought drug companies and that makes drugs very expensive. In those documentaries I also saw that there are people who have problems with their medical insurance and that they give them some insignificant excuses for not taking care of them, they hide information about some illness or condition that they had in the past, some have to, for example, if they have a cut deep and need stitches, they have to sew it themselves at home, and a man who accidentally lost one finger and cut another was given the option of stitching the cut finger wound and not attaching the other amputated finger, or paying a fortune to sew the wound and reattach the lost finger, in the end the man decided on the first option, since he did not have medical insurance or it did not cover him in full, they sewed the wound of the severed finger and the amputated finger ended up in a landfill. Also, a girl who suffers from diabetes has to distribute her insulin so that it lasts longer, since it is very expensive and the fact that she has to distribute it for a certain time is very dangerous for her health, she had to get it from someone in Internet that gave it away and/or go to Canada to get it at a pharmacy there, and the pharmacist at the Canadian pharmacy where she went told her that 3 Americans, I think, have already come to her pharmacy to get cheaper medications, and Also getting medicines from other countries is illegal, unless you bring them for her and not resell them. Also a mother and her young daughter had to move to Canada because the mother lost faith in American healthcare and decided to move to Canada to get free healthcare. I also saw that Kamala Harris said she wanted to improve American healthcare, but I'm skeptical if she was serious or if it was a hoax. I'll give you the videos I saw of the terrible American healthcare that I saw. The last two links are two videos that are in Spanish, but you can put subtitles in your language so that you can understand it, go to settings, and one of the options is subtitles and there you can configure them to put your language.

I come from a not so developed country where the hospitals in horror movies look luxurious for these BUT the staff is very educated and work so good even tho they don't have so much supply. I'm talking about the town i grew up at and it's pretty small.

I now live in a developed country where the first time i had to visit yhe hospital i tought i am in heaven it is so clean so organised BUT the staff is not so prepared also you always have to wait. I went in the emergency because i had very bad period pain i was throwing up. Yhey put me in a room and told me to wait, some nurse came and wrote about it and said they can't give me a shot because they have to do a blood test i waited for 3 hours for someone to come and take my blood and 5 more hours for them to come and tell me go home, they didn't do nothing at all, a few weeks after i got the test results at home it was a A4 page with written "everything is ok" on it where in my homecountry they give you the resaults after one or two hours with every information on what they tested and the resaults in details.

I agree with you. I think it really got bad during COVID and now they use that as an excuse to provide shitty service. Medical centers lost a lot of employees during covid. Some were fired for not getting the vaccine and a lot quit because they could not deal with the BS anymore. These positions were not backfilled.
However, you should shop around for new doctors. I went to a urologist because I had frequent UTIs and I usually just brought in a pee sample and the doc would call the prescription for antibiotics into my local CVS. He retired and I was sent to a new guy. I could never get in to see him. They would not just take a pee sample, they wanted me to submit to a full office visit. Often it would take 3 or 4 days before Icould get my antibiotics. By then it would be a full blown infection.
I went to see another guy. I just picked him off the internet but his reviews were good so I went to see him. Not only was he a better doctor, in fact he fixed the underlying cause behind my UTIs and basically fixed the problem. His office staff is awesome. There is always a human that answers the phone. They always call me back when they say they will and his office opens at 7AM so I used to drop off the pee sample on my way to work.
Every time I go there I make it a point to tell the staff how awesome that they are.

Sounds like a Massachusetts problem, more specifically your city and facility problem. Something like a thorn remove can be done at an urgent care clinic if you can't do it yourself. I've had a 6 inch thorns jabbed like an inch into my eye socket and I just pulled it out of my face while standing on top of a 10 foot ladder, rubbed a little spit on it and went on with my day. Anyway, the last time I went to an urgent care clinic here in Florida it was for something far worse than that, I showed my id, signed one line on paperwork and saw a cool a nice doctor and a good looking caring nurse that had great bedside manner in roughly 5 minutes. I had a private room. My wounds had to soak for about 10 minutes to disinfect them. Then the doctor spent probably 20 minutes patching me up and the nurse did all the bandages and gave me my prescriptions in the following 15 minutes. I paid like $175 and walked out the door. No hassle whatsoever.

Honestly I have no clue. My mom and I had to take my brother who had 3 seizures in a 3 HR times span to the ER. Took all day just to finally get him into the ER. By the time we got him in, they were wanting to give him a bunch of medicine yet they had no clue what he had. He ended up having a infection in his leg, that was close to entering his bloodstream. He almost died. So I honestly don't know. There are some really great, sweet healthcare workers, although some can be pains at times. It all depends. It seems hospitals here in Texas really stink at least where I'm at, especially Cook Children's in Fort Worth.

In France it's good, while I was away on holliday I got an infection and I had to call a doctor in another city during the week where everyone was away on holiday I got an appointment 2 hours after calling and I had to pay only 7 euros for the doctor appointment and all of the medicament were free.

3 day after this I got an allergy from the medicament, I called him and he took me directly made me pay again only 7 euros and I got new medicament again for free.

In my experiences when it come from emergency service are extremely fast, you get an appointment in the day / directly and you get of of your medicament for free is it also less expensive than a regular doctor appointment since is it an emergency one. So French service are good and fast.
