I mean... I think in general, most Americans seem to be very triggered when you suggest that we aren’t the absolute best at pretty much anything. It’s like talking to an irrational fan of a sports team. “Your team sucks, my team rules”, that’s all they know, and it literally fucks with their psyche to suggest anything to the contrary. It’s fine to think well of where you live, but don’t wrap so much personal pride into it, you didn’t “earn” living here, it was just chance that you were born here or anywhere, whether it’s fortunate or unfortunate. So yeah, I think the healthcare is good here in terms of its ceiling of quality, but the costs are absolutely outrageous, and that renders the whole system pretty average, in total.
They're very sneaky about the way they word the health insurance. EG: Copay, deductible, premium? wtf? Lots of employer paid health insurance you just pay for. Like they have good benefits, but they also have like $800 come out of their paycheck every month. I just have a standard $6000 deductible. I pay $275/month and this pays for most medicines. Now if you end up in the emergency room and have $100,000 I have to pay $6000.00 plus my monthly $275 payment. Seems fine to me. You hope you don't ever need it, they hope they don't have to pay.
Are you kidding? It’s been a huge political issue for at least the past decade.
Have you met americans? Half of us are dumb as rocks.

I don't have the whole document in my hand, but it looks like insurance is paying 99%. The balance due is under $1,900. This is also not an average bill. This person had a lot of health problems. Also, Medical bills are interest free. If you can't pay them, you're just going to have an impacted credit score. You can still go about your life as usual.
Tell that to the people who can't get insulin.
We are aware, the pharmaceutical companies and corporate hospitals and their lobbyist own our politicians so nothing will change until we get rid of campaign funding.
most of them are not aware. They only believe what they've heard from Fox News
America is full of Sheep LOL
@rcljr Totally agree. If you want change quit voting the same idiots in
We don't though? Our survival rates are five times higher, our life time costs are less then other nations, we have far lower wait times (which is the difference between life and death in many cases (having to wait six months to see a doctor when you have cancer could and frequently is lethal), we have lower infant and maternal death rates (if you bother to actually compare how we collect data) etc. etc. It is infinitly superior to all other healthcare systems in the world which is why people come to america for medical care while americans rarely leave the US for medical care.
Yeah life expectancy is not a determination of healthcare. That is why I pointed out that you have a five times higher survival rate for cancer and traumatic injury in the US then you do anywhere else, because that IS purely related to healthcare. In the US your free to smoke, drink, and eat what you want. That is going to lower life expectancy and that has nothing to do with healthcare.
So agian, we have the best in the world objectively speaking (if your willing to actually look at the data instead of poor attempts to belittle the US (WHO uses questions such as "do you like your health care system, which of course has nothing to do with how good it is)).
healthcare quality is not very good,
Well, five times higher survival rates for cancer and traumatic injury would say otherwise, but by all means, you go get your healthcare in africa, or south america or wherever you think its better, just don't force me to get a shittier system because you don't want to face facts.
You're confused.
America is the only developed country which doesn't have a federal healthcare system - it has lots of local healthcare businesses.
Hence why it's got the worst health per capita in all the world. As you are only useful if you're living like a pig, and paying insurance for the privilege.
My healthcare is awesome better then any other country I know. There is just one thing, you need to earn your healthcare in this country by having a job. Everyone that has an issue with our healthcare system is because they think it should be free to all. Life is not free, go out and get a job and you will have the best healthcare in the world.
We have really good healthcare it’s just expensive. You can have 2 of 3 thing when it comes to healthcare
1 universality
2 quality
3 affordability
We have quality and affordability normally what happen when the government take over healthcare is you sacrifice the quality for universality
Yeah, I’ll drive my dying ass to the hospital, thanks.
call a limo, it's cheaper
Because it's purposely not transparent and very secretive. Most Americans have no clue of what the bill is because their insurance pays it. Most the bills you see posted online are not actually the real price. insurance companies get discounts by law So they just have the price higher on paper Then it actually is anyone pays. They're then stupid people who just pay it without thinking. If you don't have insurance you could just call them and tell them you don't have insurance and they will greatly reduce the costs use sometimes by like 90%.
So because of American law you have to treat people in the ERs possibles have to make up the money somewhere somoney somewhere so they charge people who actually pay more.
Basically if you get government out of health care we could have great health care the problem is government.
So how is it that country's with government healthcare have far better health services?
What are you talking about they do not. anyone with money in those countries actually become to to America for health care. Or they pay for private health care in their home country basically only the very poor basically only the very poor used the government run healthcare and it's not even that great they're and it's not even that great very long delays a denial of service.
Also in the countries that don't have the very long delays a denial of service it's not just free health care this is not just free healthcare You have to pay the tax and also a percentage of the costs or they get nothing.
You just believe in a myth that America's health care is bad when it's just over price because the government regulations.
Media gets them riled up on wedge issues like abortion, so they elect anti-abortion politicians who will take away their healthcare.
@rcljr abortion is the most necessary healthcare
First it is not Ant-abortion it is PRO-LIFE, big difference. Just because you are ANTI-LIFE for unborn children does not make you right.
@johnsmithjs And calling a bean sized fetus “unborn children” won’t win the argument.
I am glad you agree that a fetus is a un-born child, what is sad is you are OK with murdering that un-born child.
@johnsmithjs I didn’t agree actually. You guys just see divine life wherever you please.
Sure you did, I guess you are just to confused to know.
@johnsmithjs Is that how you win arguments? Pretend to be mentally handicapped? It’s working.
Fetus= The unborn young of a viviparous vertebrate having a basic structural resemblance to the adult animal.
Just because it is bean sized does not make a difference.
And you call me mentally handicapped. You are the one that used the term fetus, not me. So yes we did agree it is an un-born child.
@johnsmithjs does that mean it’s a person? No. Even the Bible doesn’t think so.
So now you want to change the terminology. I guess I should not have expected anything different from you.
@johnsmithjs No. you called a fetus unborn children dummy.
Dummy? Wow, I guess we are back in elementary school, poo face! At least you have me laughing at your ignorance. Good Job.
@johnsmithjs could've called you an asshole. But I try to restrain myself.
Legally, what we call “children” or “persons” matters.
We like to believe what we're told.
We're the land of the free, but with more people in prison per capita than almost anywhere.
If it is so bad, why do all the foreign billionaires come here to get their elective surgeries?
I have only travelled to Canada so I don't know about the rest of the world but I saw first hand that the healthcare in the US was better. Maybe the issue is that if you do not have good insurance you don't get good healthcare.
You haven't seen the healthcare system anywhere.
The healthcare system is different from our quality of care. America has amazing surgeons and people come from all over the world to have operations in our country. What sucks is our pharmaceutical industry and the insane billing practices.
Sane people know that while the brainwashed sheep think we have the best Healthcare
The quality of care is as good or better than any other country. If you want to argue cost then do that. If you make it cheaper then the quality will go down to that of Canada or England
Life expectancy may be lower but it is from the horrible American diet not the lack of healthcare
Our healthcare system in England is good. I can get a GP appointment quickly. There's a walk-in centre in our city. Medicine is easy to get and is affordable. If you need the police, it's a different story...
Most of them aren't. Some say universal Healthcare is the solution, others say that government should stay out of it and let competition lower prices.
Competition doesn't lower prices and it doesn't improve quality
Half of us still have common sense. The other half thinks it's a privilege. Meanwhile they wanna scream gun rights while screaming minorities are dangerous.
I have dealt first-hand with healthcare in Europe, Canada, Mexico, and the U. S.
The U. S. healthcare system is far from perfect, but it's better than ANY of those places.
you haven't dealt with any healthcare systems
If you say so.
You'd better do some research and speak to people from other countries where you believe the healthcare is so much better.
I've done my research, that's how I know the US has the worst healthcare in developed countries. You haven't done any research and you're making stuff up.
Watching Michael Moore movies is not research.
Making stuff up is not research. You've never once been to another country.
Then why the United States has the worst health system among western developed nations time.com/.../
Europe isn't a country.
You just lost all credibility.
How can we have a perfect health Care system if we can't even figure out how to have a sovereign borders?
what do the borders have to do with healthcare?
Inviting the whole world to our health care for all plan, doesn't seem like a great idea to me.
most countries give healthcare to refugees.
We just took in a million in 6 months. I want health care for all, but the "all" can't really mean "ALL".
Same thing happens in other countries
Name a country that takes in a million people in 6 months.
France
France took in a million illegals in six months?
It ready is a simple question.
@rcljr the right wingers think that the military is paid for with candy sales
@john_doesnt,
The lefties pretend they don't own guns and that they don't vote for the exact same wars.
Right. Maintaining borders and protecting the legal citizens therein is one of the few true functions of a Federal government. Most of the rest are simply add-on "perks" to garner votes of various groups.
@Massageman
What baffles me is that America has 30,000 troops on the border between North and South Korea, but apparently it's not permitted to protect our own border. At least Trump had the guts to suggest that we charge these countries for our protection, but I suppose like everything, it's racist.
THat's about what life has come down to - - - - -When in doubt, call a letter and pull a card- R, S, G, etc. :- )
I got to love how anybody who disagrees with you or claims they've experienced the health care system of other countries. Your reaction is to just say they are either lying or brainwashed.
I know when people are lying about going to other countries. Most of the people on here are posers and lying about who they are
The quality of care is pretty good - it is the financial stuff that is literally killing people.
Because they are stupid.
Because it isn't. It's just expensive.
welcome, to capitalism
It’s still worth it to live here despite having an okay healthcare system. We can fix it.
It will never be fixed until people admit it's a horrible system
