An organization of Muslim women who supported Kamala Harris and Tim Walz has disbanded and withdrawn their support after their request for a Palestinian-American speaker at the Democrat National Convention (DNC) in Chicago was denied.

What do you think of that?

Mostly just sounds like a cry for attention rather than any actual serious attempt at participating in the election.

If they were serious about their agenda then they would be ruthless and not simply disband when not being pampered and treated as a special little child.

Groups that actually play to win would have sought out a more constructive plan of action. For example, of the two options of Trump and Harris which one would be preferable? Based on that you support their side, not for their benefit but for your own benefit. This whole whining over not getting representation comes afterwards once the election is over and we can start talk about enacting policies.

My postings about the DC ad Harris-Walz are from news articles about the DNC that I'd like to make people aware of. I made similar posts about about Trump and the RNC, although, to be totally honest, the RNC had fewer news articles than the DNC did, from various liberal, moderate, and conservative sources.

Nazism is a European invention, and Middle Easterners have different history. Antisemitism is more rampant in the Western world than it is in Palestine. Why would they want a piece of Palestinian land if that wasn't true? Why wouldn't they return to their countries of origin? All it takes is a simple DNA test to tell you where you're from, but even that's not allowed apparently.

The Palestinians are an invented people- they are Egyptians and Jordanians. by the way, about half of Israeli Jews are descended from Jews forced to leave Arab countries which confiscated their property without compensation. Jews have lived in Israel and what's now called the West Bank for thousands of years. It's not "Palestinian land".

There is a lot of anti-Semitism im the Western world, but definitely not more than among the Palestinians, almost all of whom want to see all Jews wiped off the face of the Earth.

Hardly surprising; Harris isn't stupid enough to antagonize the pro-Israel lobby, and I don't think ANYONE currently in Washington has the diplomatic skill necessary to negotiate a cease-fire, much less a real truce, in that war. Russia-Ukraine, maybe; not Israel-Palestine.

She's also probably confident that they'll vote for her anyway, since the only viable alternative is the terrible Orange Man. And frankly, given that much of the pro-Palestine lobby in the US is composed of self-entitled children (as shown here by thinking "having a right to speak" means "being entitled to your platform", it might've backfired if she had. Her record doesn't really support the idea of "playing fair" by letting everyone have a chance to speak, and she's not skilled enough an organizer to contain the rodeo that would ensue if she tried.

Well, if that is the sole reason they withdrew their support, that support wasn't really ever there to begin with. The fact is that Islamists expect to have their every whim catered to and no one can ever satisfy them. Maybe the Harris campaign realizes that. Most people that voted democrat in the past will continue to do so, including Muslims and Jews. They may pretend that they aren't, mostly because those two groups are enemies, but in the end, most of them WILL still vote democrat in the election.
