I’ve seen as the youngest child in my family my heterosexual brothers and my father get screwed over lose everything late in life because they got cheated on. All the divorces were caused by the woman cheating, checking out, and taking everything, the house, cars, boats, they took it all, and all that stuff went to the other man who essentially became the new father to the kids. I only see my gay brother having luxuries, being able to travel, and have freedom, the rest of the straight men live lives I wouldn’t want. If I was to get a girl pregnant accidentally, I would hope that the child was either a girl, or a gay man.

You could just be single or use a prenup. But yeah, sometimes people's group status or identity will cause them extra problems in life.

For example: my sister wants kids but can't have them "the easy way" because she and her girlfriend are both disgusted by the thought of sex with a man. This is a problem she would not have if she wasn't gay.

But straight people can also not be able to have kids that way for different reasons, like being single or infertile. That's an example of universal problems anyone could have, like (where gay marriage is legal) divorce. Anyone can get married and then have a bad cheating partner and bad divorce and get cleaned out. It sucks, but it happens sometimes.

Sure, if you were gay then you would avoid all those bad partners who are the opposite sex. But if you were straight you would avoid all those bad partners who are the same sex. I would say the most at-risk people in relationships are bi because they have twice as many options of bad partners, but they also have twice as many options for not-bad partners. And then there's people like me who are ace and could just not have any partner—but i still chose to get married and have a kid. So...

Yeah, sexuality definitely changes the game, but not really as much as you think (where it's legal).

In a generalised context, or a specific context, sure it's easy from outside glances to say some folks have it easier. Though often it's perhaps how life is a numbers game of odds, or luck basically.
