What are some good lethal weapons for someone who cannot legally possess firearms?

I have been hospitalized involuntarily before and also have a past criminal conviction that likely disqualifies me from owning a firearm.

Although I will not be purchasing a firearm, I would like to consider other options for lethal weapons.

I am thinking about purchasing a repeating crossbow gun device.

I am trying to prep a little. If Kamalatoe Harris wins and a civil war were to erupt, I would like to defend myself.

Any other ideas?

And you claim this, why? I am not looking to purchase anything that falls under the definition of a legal firearm. The crossbow device works more by mechanical action. I am thinking about a Cobra Raptor.
