Have You ever heard of the "intensification of the class struggle along with the development of socialism"? Similarly, the "patriarchy" will only be defeated once the last man is either executed or put in some new variation of a labor camp. Marxism is a lethal threat, whether to the economy, to the policymaking, or to the society and its culture. Alas, the only way to be safe from the left wing is to similarly stamp it out. Though I guess it's not a good option either, since the very existence of the left wing might make the big business aware of what might happen if they let go of their responsibilities regarding the society that makes those people affluent. So... Unless we can successfully reeastablish Catholicism as the common faith in the West (and yes, that would be the best option), the existence of the left wing is somewhat needed as a scarecrow against those who would be willing to forsake their humanity in pursuit of riches. The capitalist system can only work properly if the society is financially capable of consuming what the entrepreneurs produce. If the entrepreneurs make their goods unavailable for the regular consumer, and if those goods are essential for the regular consumer's survival, petty theft will rise to levels no longer manageable by the law enforcement, which can then snowball into a socialist-style revolution. However... I guess the left wing is useless in this role within a debt-driven economy like the Western ones. Regular customers are no longer capable of obtaining those essential goods on their own, but with seemingly cheap credit readily available, the economy has been derailed and turned into a de facto slavery anyway. The only thing the left wingcan do in this case is to make the de facto slaves state-owned... As as history shows, it's still better if they are privately owned.
