Just FYI I openly admit that Trump lost last night’s debate and I say that as a moderate conservative.

I also believe it was the most disgustingly biased moderated debate in American history that doesn’t mean I won’t admit Trump put on poor performance. He got (understandably) frustrated and let his ego get the better of him. He let Kamala get under his skin. He’s no stranger to hostile environments either. All he needed to do was respond with “well why didn’t you do that as VP Kamala?” when she gave her bs promises. But he didn’t respond like that until the very end of the debate. He should of done that from the start.

I am also very suspicious about how Kamala never seemed surprised by any question that was asked of her. I watched her primary 2020 debates. I also remember her VP debate with Mike Pence. That was the most comfortable she ever looked in a debate. Ever.

Sure the questions were mostly anti-Trump (the one loaded question asking Trump about Kamala’s race made me want to vomit). She also had the moderators debating Trump for her. But considering how disgustingly obvious it was that ABC was anti-Trump would I be a conspiracy theorist to believe she was likely leaked the debate questions in advance? For now I would like to pretend she wasn’t, but if there is any shred of verified evidence is released about this later I will quickly change my mind

Anyway I predict that the Harris campaign will take that win and run with it. They will do all they can to keep Kamala out of future debates. They will also continue to keep her away from any interview where she will unexpectedly get asked a tough question.

You know it’s funny. When Trump debated Biden two months ago and Biden looked like a senile corpse there were (some) liberals on GAG who were still insanely claiming “Biden won”. I’m sure as hell NOT claiming Trump “won” the debate last evening. He lost. I admit it! But several liberals on GAG just couldn’t admit that. But at least the moderators did a good job at that debate when it came to impartiality unlike ABC last night which disgusting. And CNN f’ing hosted that previous debate too.

If your a democrat and Kamala’s policy (which we don’t even know what it is) benefits you directly then fine. There are least two guys on GAG who normally argue and debate rationally (and also hate modern feminism). But for some bizarre reason they are defending Kamala. I have deduced it’s about student loan forgiveness. They both have a shit ton of debt and they are hoping the government will bail them out. You hit the nail right on the head. Also the question they slipped in about “how do you feel about Kamala’s race” was the most insanely disgusting loaded question they could of possibly thought of.

The question I have is why are all the questions (J6, Charlottesville, etc) ALWAYS fixated about went on during Trump’s term 4 to 8 years ago. However the ONLY tough question Kamala was asked about her the RECENT (and current) term was about Afghanistan? And then they try to duck questions saying “well she is VP not president” or “well Biden isn’t running anymore.”. Well no sh*t Biden isn’t running. The democrats illegally pushed him out of the campaign despite him winning the primaries.

Well that exactly shows how ineffective and worthless Kamala was at VP. She was often so bored she would play solitaire in her office.

There is some good news recently. The polls aren’t showing any post debate bump for Kamala. The debate might of been bad optics for Trump but swing voters / independents also saw how extremely unfair the debate was.

I think he got pushed off center when Kamala made a comment about “his rallies were boring and people were leaving early”. Bullsh*t or not Trump let that get to him and he’s got to keep his ego in check with that bs.

Honestly, I'm not really sure what anyone thinks they can get out of debates in this format. In fact, debates at all don't really make much sense. It would be much, MUCH better to have each candidate do a 3 hour discussion with someone actually pressing them on concrete policy questions that are of the greatest significance to the electorate.

Right now I think we're mostly clear as to what Trump wants to do. We are much, MUCH less clear as to what Harris wants to do. Largely this seems deliberate as the Harris camp seems to believe that it will help them NOT to articulate clear policy goals or positions or only to focus on things outside the control of the executive.

I think that strategy is going to fail come election day, but we'll see.

Thanks. I didn't watch the debate, but I may at some point. I do have to say though, one of the things that REALLY annoys me, is when presidential candidates go off on their "legislative agenda" or worse yet, when the so-called journalists ASK them about that as though it's at ALL within their control. Trump wants tax cuts? Harris wants a federal law that "codifies" Roe-v-Wade? WHO FUCKING CARES? They're not running for Congress or the Senate! both of those things are ENTIRELY out of their control. Sure they can sign or veto legislation, but they can't vote that legislation into existence.

Now, if they want to talk about executive order, shutting down government departments, how they plan to do executive appointments, what they'd like to do with the military, etc., etc., etc. -- all day long. PRESS THEM ON THE SHIT THAT MATTERS!

You're the commander-in-chief. Are you going to enforce border protection or not? Are you going to commit US troops to various theaters or no? Are you going to allow them to do their job or are you going to prioritize maintaining a stalemate with various adversaries? Are you going to allow energy exploration projects to go through or not? etc. etc. This is shit they can do and shit that matters.

Something tells me that the quality of the questions in this "debate" are going to severely disappoint me.

I have lived in the same state and had the same career during both Trump and Biden administration. I can say without a resounding doubt my own livelihood was detrimentally impacted under the Biden administration compared to Trumps. From hyperinflation (my real earnings are down 14%), to local crime and urban decay (I live close to Denver) to having far leftist ideals forced on me in the workplace (company is pushing for us all to use “preferred pronouns) all of that was either directly or indirectly influenced by the Biden administration’s policy.

Kamala Harris was the sitting VP for his entire term and also bears full responsibility for this bullshit. By her own admission she was “the last person in the room” when it came to his executive decisions. What exactly do you expect her to do with her administration? She’s trying to (quietly) campaign right now on reversing course. But at the same time she can’t openly admit the Biden administration was wrong given she was (and still is) the sitting VP.

So all voters have to do is compared their livelihoods under Trump compared to Biden’s. Not a tough comparison. I know the left would like to pretend Trumps first term was the 3rd reich or some insane bs. But deep down you know that’s bs. During his term the economy was strong, there was low inflation, no border crisis and no wide scale raging wars abroad. And COVID would of come no matter who the president was. That was an extraneous circumstance.

Surprisingly the leftists I encountered in California were far less “in your face” and confrontational about the woke bs as they are in Colorado. When liberals move to other states they often feel like they are missionaries. It’s like my neighbor hanging up the half American half rainbow flag in a quiet older neighborhood. What’s the point?
