Haiti is irrelevant. And, yes, I actually do know quite a bit about Haiti, but, as I said, it's irrelevant.

Do you understand why Haiti was referenced here? I suspect not since you didn't follow what's going on... In Springfield OH, there is a significant population of legal Haitian migrant workers. However, Trump took some wacky Internet meme without doing any research and ran with it accusing illegals of stealing cats and dogs in Ohio and then eating the pets.

This is all part of the problem! You are young and naïve a bit, so I will cut you some slack, but voters who vote for Trump aren't doing their homework. They just not their heads and echo whatever horseshit comes out of his mouth or those of other trolls. This is how QAnon got started.

Be a bit cynical when you walk into the voting booth - not just this year, but every year. Lots of politicians and pundits of all stripes will try to bullshit you. That doesn't mean instantly tuning them out - they may actually have something important and truthful to say - but do your "due diligence" and fact check what is being said.

For instance, suppose I said "Inflation was 39% last year and unemployment last year reached an all-time high of 42.5%. It's all due to the __________ Party and their failed policies!"

Am I full of shit or not? How would you know? What would or should you do to check?
