I’m a former Trump supporter. Of course he’s a liar and I hold him accountable for his lies.

He claimed as the weather gets warming, the virus will go away along with claiming “we’re rounding the corner”.

In a secret audio tape taken months prior to his lies that cost Americans big time, he admitted that the Pandemic is a big deal and the exact reasons why he played it down the way he did…. “This is more deadly than even the most strenuous flus… I’ve always played it down. Didn’t want to create a panic.”

In a public interview he was asked multiple questions about Covid19 Pandemic and his administration’s response in which he snapped, “People are dying, that’s true. It is what it is.”

In the most recent Presidential Debate, Trump claimed falsely he didn’t know about January 6th violence. Doubling down saying, all he knew was that he was hired to give a speech on the Ellipse. At the first debate that included President Biden, he claimed that he knew there would be violence and blamed it on Nancy Pelosi getting in the way. We all know POTUS was watching the violence on television and continually refused to send the National Guard in which his Vice President Mike Pence was the one to call the National Guard. We even know Trump wanted to go to the Capitol steps and even threatened his Secret Service members to do as he commanded thanks to Nancy Pelosi footage taken by her daughter to show the truth that January 6th Select Committee findings found to be credible and accurate.

He’s a politician Doug, of COURSE he lies, they literally all do! Maybe sometime, long ago, in a time now forgotten, politicians were good, decent, honest people. But now… No, now they are ALL full of sh! t! I once heard where the origin of the word politics came from, its from the Latin prefix “poly" meaning many, and “ticks" meaning “Blood-sucking parasites that are hated by everyone, and will literally bleed you dry if they could!”. 😉

ok first your girlfriend/boyfriend analogy doesn't quite work because in that scenario you actually have the option to walk away from both. with out elections as they are set up you do not have that choice. sure you can stay at home and not vote but you must still endure the consequences of whatever party ends up winning for better or worse. And so in this instance you must choose the lesser of two evils every-time unless we change our 'first past the post voting system.' until then we are stuck in this cycle every-time we vote for president. And no i and many others also do not have the option of fleeing the country either so that is also moot. so the option is simple to me: choose the person you think will cause the least amount of damage to our country or the world etc and then after we gotta get right back to work choosing better candidates if we are unhappy with the current ones. To me that candidate is Kamala Harris easily.

Its really quite simple as soon as he's no longer a threat to our democracy and our very way of life being at arms length from retaking power again then i will no longer give a shit what he does. until then yes i will pay attention to anytime something significant happens... i never try to hear him speak anymore than i have to because i can't stand to hear his stupid voice.

I don't trust any source when it comes to politics. 100% of people I've met will lie when it comes to defending their political ideology. Including fact checkers and wikis. That's why I said to just focus on the policies of the party you support.

Individually, I might hear a claim be made by a politician, then go look at the video they're making the claim about. Then, I see for myself that they're lying. But outside of very specific circumstances like that, I don't really get involved and I don't take anyone else's word for it.
