Days after Donald Trump spewed conspiracies targeting Haitian migrants on the presidential debate stage, a Haitian-American immigrant has taken charge of the prosecution of an alleged assassin whose plot against the former president was foiled by Secret Service agents at his golf course in West Palm Beach, Florida. Markenzy Lapointe, the Justice Department’s top prosecutor for South Florida, was born in Port-au-Prince and immigrated to the U. S. with his mother at age 16, the Miami Herald reported.

Lapointe was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, where his mother worked as a street vendor and his father was a tailor. Lapointe moved to Miami with his mother and siblings at the age of 16. He graduated from Miami Edison Senior High School in 1987 and then attended Miami Dade College. He drove a cab and worked alongside his mother at a restaurant in Key Biscayne. He served for six years in the United States Marine Corps Reserve and served a six-month tour in Iraq when the Gulf War erupted. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from the Florida State University in 1993 and a Juris Doctor from the Florida State University College of Law in 1999.

Wow, what a waste. You almost had a point until you mentioned his time in service and how long he's been in country. I served with Marines who couldn't speak any English going in besides "Yes sir" "No sir". Service equals citizenship, and a lot of illegals would be turning legal rather than being deported at the recruiters office.

Probably a lot are already 2 steps ahead on that pathway to not be so reliant on the sand foundation campaign promises are made of. Especially if they have cartel connections, that was a thing when I was in, lots of Marines with gang connections. Get trained up, go home and train up your own crew to take over some territory.

Anyway, I doubt mass deportations would finish by the end of a 4 year term anyway. It would take time to get approved, take more time to get funding, staged, begin, and then the logistics would be a nightmare. Likely another version of the underground railroad would start, and become thorny, with more civil unrest. Businesses heavily reliant on manual labor wouldn't want them gone either. Most got aways are working for minimum wage in factories or farms across America. Why lose that to hire Americans for 2 or 3 times as much who might not work as hard, or consistently?

I see it as being the same as Trump's promise to drain the swamp, it'll go nowhere and be stalled out by Republicans before Democrats lift a finger. Why make a big deal out of it when you know the party that represents conservatives eats itself before anyone else gets a bite?

You have to be able to understand. A couple guys were slow with English at first, but he had to have everything run to him through one of through phase one. Then he was pretty much just going on a routine and picked up some functioning English by the end.

He had a good while in infantry training after that to pick up more. I wonder how many guys fake it to get out of the mind fuck games.

How are we going to deport Haitians to Venezuela? Wouldn't the Venezuelan government have to agree to that in the first place? And last I heard they don't even want to accept their own citizens who left the country back.
