Anyone else holds both right wing and liberal views and how do you choose which party you will vote for?

It sounds conflicting doesn’t it? On one hand I’m in favour of freedom, progressive values, human rights, a friendly foreign policy, some socialist policies like free healthcare and education, etc. but on the other hand I also like free speech, strict immigration policy and to be tough on crime. Unfortunately no party stands for all these issues so it’s so difficult for me to choose, so I usually vote for the lesser of two evils. Sadly, even identifying the lesser evil is becoming increasingly difficult these days.

Intro: I believe in the 2nd Amendment freedoms & the fact that we can pass common sense rational gun control laws that keep those weapons out of mentally dangerous and untrustworthy individuals. I believe in a woman’s right to choose especially in cases of rape, incest, and saving the life of the woman also to remove a miscarried fetus. I believe in fixing our homeless crisis, working on expanding environmental protections, and making it affordable to own a house in this day in age. I believe in harsher punishments like making it unable to come back into this country legally if you crossed illegally anytime prior. I believe in freedom of religion & self expression & free speech & right to protest peacefully. I believe these are all Center Adjacent, how you turn the dial is where you find Left v. Right.

I hold the principle that American Democracy is fragile and that this great experiment has been ticking for a long damn time, almost 250 years as a matter of fact. I believe in the US Constitution, rule of law, and the principle that our public servants whether I agree with them or not are put in their position to serve all Americans & must be transparent through n through. I’d see these values as walking the Center path.

I have seen many politicians, I lean towards the left though I admire a lot on the right. When I was young I supported Obama for his promises & ideas then afterwards I supported Trump for his promises & ideas then afterwards I supported Biden, now I cast my vote to Kamala Harris this election cycle.

The fact is, I believe everyone has to be acting as a juror in the case for The White House. We can request witnesses, do some cross examination, perhaps even some prosecutors & defense attorneys too. We should analyze how this 4 yr span maybe even 8 yr span will impact not only ourselves, our constituents too. I look at a broader America because even though we may believe different things, get our news from different sources, and work different jobs we aren’t so different because we fly under one Star Spangled Banner that still flies to this day 🇺🇸.

To put it buntly and simplified…. We want to see this country around for 250 more years and continue the work our founders have spewed forth. Thank you for reading, God Bless each and everyone of you even those from other countries peeping in on the doings of our little Nation.

I'm personally baffled how anyone can be in the middle. I'm a hardcore leftist so what are we disagreeing on.

Like free speech.

The reality of immigration it's free money for the government. It cost over $200,000 for every child to be born into a country to adulthood to start pay taxes. They move to our country at 20 that is free money glitch in the world economic.

Tough on crime. It's more about power dynamics. The state is a more power instrument compared to any individual so having checks and balances on the monopoly of physical force is important. So important that bad people get away with crimes. Like DC "injustice" where superman becomes evil by turning into a reactionary dictatorship.

I'm in between too because I agree with both sides sometimes. I just vote based on the candidate, not the party they claim to be. I wasn't going to vote for Biden because he's mentally too far gone but never in a billion years would I vote for Trump. I'll likely vote for Kamala now. I tend to be a little more conservative than liberal but character matters and the criminal conman pathological liar is not fit to be the face of the country.

That’s me. I am a centrist / independent. Which works out here because practically all state or federal governments are coalition governments.

At the federal level you pick the one that is least likely to impose on states rights then vote with your feet to the state that has the most desirable combination.

Yep. I vote libertarian. Turns out the illusion of only two choices is intentionally set in our heads by the rulers. Write in a candidate if you have to.
