That song was irritating, but that's not the point. In short, yes. It's sad how so many White artists are censoring their own lyrics that they wrote decades ago, because they're afraid of getting canceled. I'm surprised Aerosmith hasn't been accused of being insensitive to non-binary people.

People in general were much more traditional with everything and far less woke. I remember when being gay was something to be ashamed of. The majority was against gay people and being called "gay" was an insult. I saw a video where they were talking about how people didn't vote for Adam Lambert to win "American Idol", because he was gay. FF 15 years later and you've got Europeans voting for cross dressers in Eurovision. It's crazy how much our culture has changed in just such a short time

It may have seemed simple and straightforward for those people that fit into those typical gender rolls that society expected, but for someone else who had to stay quiet and fake who the are, life was not so simple.
