1. Democrats hate tariffs, because they call it a tax on Americans. Democrats LOVE raising taxes on corporations, but don’t think this is a tax on Americans. Who do you think ends up paying for the raised prices of your corporate products?

2. If Trump’s tariffs are so horrible, why hasn’t president Kamala removed them? Because they work?

3. Do you want your job shipped to another country, so you can buy the products they make cheaper? With what money will you buy the products?

The way to avoid paying for tariffs is to buy products made in USA. People should be supporting their own economy. Buying an American made car creates jobs for Americans who now can afford to buy a house giving jobs to more Americans and raise families and contribute to society. Buying a foreign made car just takes that money and ships it to Japan so the Japanese can afford to buy up real estate in the United States.

The auto industry is a special case because vehicles are big, heavy and difficult to ship. You manufacture them where you intend to sell them. Ford is not manufacturing in China to sell to the US. They’re manufacturing in China to sell to China. Nothing will change that. But foreign manufacturers will continue to invest here to sell to this market.

@RedInnocent69 Cars are shipped from Japan on barges. Hundreds of cars are imported and they are covered in salt and sea gull shit by the time they get here. there are car washes set up at the port of entry and the cars are run through the car wash and sent to the dealership.

@RedInnocent69 I had a customer that was the sole importer for Toyota for the entire Northeast. I have been to their facility several times and saw them driving the cars off the barge. They has two car washes set up so they processed them 2 at a time. There were hundreds of cars.
Toyota and other foreign made cars have facilities in the US. They basically get one of these cars odd the barge and put the hub caps on it and say it was made in USA. President Trump wants to do away with this practice.

Tariffs is basically putting economy sanctions on yourself. The only reason you want tariffs is to grow a fledgling innovation. It gives them enough breathing room to be competitive.

I've heard biden tariffs are about electric vehicles and usa has a fledgling electric car manufacturing. If there are others people can have a debate on things. But an all out tariffs are isolationist and disastrous for USA.
