Was this ad for Kamala Harris SERIOUSLY supposed to appeal to men?

Last week, a PAC called Beige Rainbow put out this ad for the Harris-Walz campaign (assuming this is real)...

Was this seriously supposed to appeal to men? Here are my observations. One of Kamala Harris' nicknames is "Momala", Tim Walz screams the worst aspects of Homer Simpson, and again, the ad was issued by Beige Rainbow. And the fact that it ends quoting Tim Walz, rather than ironically quoting Donald Trump or JD Vance, doesn't help. That all is problem #1.

Problem #2 - The script sounds like it was written by a 19-year-old (and that's being generous) intern at a graphics design company, who grew up as an only child watching Gilmore Girls, Sex and the City, and every romantic comedy made between 1995 and 2008, and has never met or spoken with a grown man in her life.

And problem #3 - It still, in a roundabout way, essentially says that "white dudes, do what we want, or you suck."

If you are in any way not sold on Kamala Harris - whether you're just undecided or full MAGA - did this ad do anything for you?

This ad may be for Harris, but it is not made by nor endorsed by the Harris campaign.

How do I know? Harris didn't say "I'm Kamala Harris and I endorse this message." which is what candidates do for ads from their campaign. This is how the viewer/listener knows it's genuinely from the candidate.

That's important. This is because it is conceivable that an ad appears to support a candidate, but, in reality, is a shitty ad made by the opposition to make the candidate look bad.

For all I know, that may be the case with this ad; it is conceivable that it is an ad made by Trump supporters. However, it is a real streamed ad for swing states and apparently supports Harris.

TIM WALZ are “actually talking to guys like us — no lectures, no BS. Just real solutions that protect our freedoms and help us take care of the people who matter.”

I've seen exactly one Kamala ad that might win over some exceedingly low-information voters, and it certainly isn't this one. Beyond that, her ad campaign and PAC support has been terrible, which is not typical of the Democrats, and makes me wonder if they've simply elevated so many fringe lunatics to replace the professionals that they really are just this out of touch.

The house and senate races are another story. From the outside looking in, this is where the serious Democratic strategists are throwing all of their efforts, and it's not unrealistic to expect a Trump win while the Democrats take over the entirety of Congress, and at least win some upsets like a Texas Senate seat.

It's unlikely that it was designed to appeal to men or even white men. It is far more likely it was thrown together in a slapdash hurry to hop on the "X for Kamala Harris" bandwagon. I think it started with women for her, then black women for her, then republicans for her, and a whole bunch of fringe groups looked at the transient fame of that large zoom call and thought "How can I get in on this? What group can I represent and organise?" And the last, laziest, fucking idiot group, was "White men". Low interest, low drive, low effort.

Sadly yes. As someone who's already not voting for Harris, this add makes me want to not vote for her even more. BS like this is part of the reason I'm not longer a Democrat, I'm being vilified for something I have no control over.
