One measure is people are getting rid of their pets because they cannot afford their care.

To be fair to the pets, they don't need that much, but a trip to the Vet is very expensive. Food is expensive. They could hunt for their own if allowed...

Parts of the US Economy are good, parts not so good. Overall, the US Economy is doing OKAY, could be better, could be worse.

Some good parts: Stock Market is having one of its best years, Inflation is coming down, US Dollar is up against most foreign currencies

Some bad parts: Cost of living (food and housing in particular) is very high, job growth is below expected levels, many created jobs are low level or part-time jobs

I've seen what people from the USA reported. Mass homelessness. Tent cities. unaffordable housing and medical care. What am i to think of it?

yes "the news media". anything that makes it on the news is always bad. it's the worse things they can report. sadly, there is no "good news" channel. like, some guy in nyc... can you believe it, gave up his parking spot so my wife could park and get to work. unreal... never show up on the news.
anyways, those things reported are true, but blown out of proportion. It is harder to live for many due to inflation I think we've all had. But some people are doing well or at least ok. Others whom don't have the degree/business/job fall below and have hard time getting to good place.

my family in good shape w lots of support. I know lots of people doing very well, living life... marriages, kids, cars, motorcycles, vacations, jobs new jobs, etc. And then there's those not. That's why I ask others reality. So much now... is the govt and where they spread the money.

These are fortunate or blessed cases to have. I know i'm not one of them and i'm in Europe. I don't see the gateway towards a fulfilling life unless my trades go vastly into the profit margin.

I did mention what people reported, not what the news outlet report. Take the war in Ukraine as an example. I'm not going to refer to the news outlets, i'm going to ask the average Yaroslav from Kharkiv.

fair enough, still news though... via the search feed. google and youtube nkow what we want, which is negative. it feeds us that. But no denying reality of war. People don't make so much videos on how well their life is going... as much. if you search for good, you'll find that. example, people providing food to homeless, helping people off streets, etc.

I wouldn't want my life dependent on trades, that never worked for me. Im not sure how to get out of the box other than working hard and finding a good break, building on successes slowly. Europe I don't claim to understand.
One easy path is to marry into a solid family. That requires putting yourself into such circles of people and impressing some person in daily life with your outstanding social skills and character. that is achievable with effort.

The other problem with that is that youtube gets tons of staged videos and youtube is a video hosting platform controlled by someone, that with a higher likelihood in personal bias decides what content they allow to be hosted on their platform. I watch Andrew Tate and he used to be on Youtube before whoever owns Youtube decided out of their personal disliking to shut him down. Andrew Tate has moved on to Rumble now.

You are correct, Youtube puts highly requested/wanted content on the front for everyone. First they search for something like "europeans hate americans" and then get those videos as suggested or on the search results, click on them, watch them and then are truly convinced, that europeans hate americans. Duh, that someone f---ing ASKED for it and most likely never traveled beyond the US. That's dumbass s--t.

yes. to your last point as well, just had some Europeans (French) demonstrate how remarkable people they are, jump in to help an injured relative, sacrafice their time and put lives on hold to help others in need. World needs more of that, and that's what should make it to the news more often.

It is still bad. Inflation is still out of control. The government does not count food or energy prices when they calculate inflation. It would be over 10% if they did,
