It seems the moral fabric in this country is in a bad state of decay. People are overstressed, angry, overwhelmed, and over worked. People are more self-centered, greedy, harsh, and uncompassionate. Job security and financial burden is everywhere. Accountability is lost in most facets in life, from the family unit to the workplace to the government. Pessimism and bleakness rein everywhere. Ignorance, wickedness, and hypocrisy is on the rise.

Financially speaking, for a lot of people, they are one unexpected emergency or job loss away from losing their livelihoods. They risk not being able to pay the increased cost of rent, their mortgage, or putting food on the table.

Working tirelessly, producing good-quality work, and having good hard skills and work ethic is not enough anymore. Coworkers are throwing their colleagues under the bus for petty crap, personality disagreements, and employers are willing to cut workers instantly for not being a good "cultural fit". Cancel culture is running rampant, where people lose their employment, privileges, and even their families for just having opposing political views or sincere moral beliefs. Instead of tolerating people for having opposing views and differences, we just block or get rid of them.

When can we return to normal again, where hard work and determination leads to a mostly-comfortable and stable lifestyle? When can we start caring for others again and have a return of decency?

I just want to live an American dream, where my hard work and efforts pay off and I can afford to live a comfortable middle class life with a healthy family. I would like to have access to affordable healthcare, even for mental health treatment. I am NOT asking to live a luxurious lifestyle, nor do I care to own a mansion or a yacht or designer cars. Just a normal life.

My opinion is it's late stage capitalism.

So we need a new relationship with the economic system. Some call it communist revolution but we are in the modern era with more tools in our favor.

Starting with not being scared of stepping away of capitalism. We already kind of do this. It's not like you have to barter fire fighters to save your family from a house fire. Just a little more explicit where capitalism dosen't work.

It's extremely difficult to make competitive choices for let's say trama care in an ambulance where you ask "what's happening" every other minute. Usa has tried private insurance but ultimately the only way to profit are people who never get sick so what the fuck is the point. Yet the insurance set all the extreme prices to begin with.

At the same time over half America's can't afford $500 emergency like a $2000 emergency room. This creates homelessness. A strain on government spending that's already 2/3 of all medical spending as it stands today getting a negative investment.

That my opinion how we reach 1st world standards globally. But why settle for that being the greatest country to ever exist?

Uncap social security. Create a culture to retire with millions so the labor lader dosen't get clog up. People in and out every 3 to 5 years from the top to keep the actual standards of promotion as we understand them or have a level of redundancy to keep the same understanding.

We do need to basically cap the income at some point. From there create level of redundancy creating higher standards. “A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they shall never sit in.” -Greek Proverb

I have always understood and learned we live in a mixed economy. I believe more power and government should exist on a smaller scale, like state and even local-level more so than on a national or federal level. I believe emergency services and public safety (fire, EMS, rescue, law enforcement) should be tax-funded, along with other essentials like roads and common public lands. Otherwise, I think there should be individual economic freedoms and personal freedoms without much government interference. I do believe in school choice, and really, I don't think a child's upbringing should be the responsibility of the government but more so the parent. But when our government stops handing money out to other countries and to illegal aliens (and just overall non-essential waste), we can invest more into our own nations and citizens.

Sadly, here in Tennessee, our emergency services are well underfunded. In some areas, it is monopolized by for-profit entities that are lacking.

How is understand it being leftist is it's the proletariat vs bourgeoisie. As the working class give an inch to the elite class by breaking away from our fellow working class from a different nation we ultimately end up exactly where we are today.

To not have solidarity with your fellow neighbor from another country is ultimately cutting yourself at the knee to the powers that humilate you in the way you've already described.

Common-sense reasons, such as putting government officials up in lavish, 5-star hotels for official travel or purchasing an expensive mustang sports car for a police pursuit vehicle or going all-out on an aesthetic library when we cannot maintain highways or afford a fire engine when one breaks down.
