May I present the American police force:

A group that costs the tax payer a lot of money, statistically can't do their jobs and historically speaking is responsible for an increase in crime rather than a decrease in crime. Not to mention that they keep killing citizens, they just can't stop themselves.

Things have devolved quite far when literally removing the police is a way to lower crime and protect civilians.

@OddBeMe No, I was there. Trump got the vaccine made. Then Pfizer and the rest of big pharma slow walked it out the door until after the election. Biden totally botched the rollout. He gave preference to certain minorities and had anyone who refused the shot fired, then made it so they could not collect unemployment. Many people were financially ruined because of this. It only made the public more suspicious of the government and turned the vaccine into a political issue.
